Bitcoin is up 9% since July 1, while the Nasdaq is down 6%. Those calling BTC a leveraged tech bet, just got proven wrong since it just did the exact opposite of tech for three straight weeks.

I think Bitcoin is a good start and some ETF’s. I’ve been using a company to mine BTC at some generous yields 30-40% ROI and just going from there. Here’s how it looks.

US government published national treasure policy. ETF and US public companies are doing Bitcoin acquisition and mining all the time. The world leader exchange USD into BTC. We have to follow it in case of money dilution. The smartest people do what we are going to do.

I replaced spending money on frivolous shit from amazon and musicians friend. Now I stay broke with a BTC DCA.

Science fiction dream. Governments will never allow BTC to topple their currency. Buy, sell higher, then buy the dip and repeat.

I’m running a bit of a psychological experiment on myself, and I’m curious if anyone else has tried something similar.
A little background: I’m 6’4”. As a teenager, I was pretty overweight. During high school I got sick, took up cross-country running, and leaned out. In my 20s I stayed in decent shape, but by my 30s the weight slowly came back. At my heaviest I hit 272 pounds.
In 2021, I went keto and lost 55 pounds in about five months. I got down to 212 pounds and was honestly in the best shape of my life. Fast-forward to today, and I’m hovering around 225-230 pounds. I’d like to lose another 25-30 pounds.
Here’s the experiment.
We all know processed foods today are engineered to be incredibly appealing. Food companies spend enormous amounts of money studying consumer behavior, psychology, flavor, packaging, marketing—basically everything they can to get us to buy and eat more. I’m not saying it’s some grand conspiracy; it’s just business. But I’ve realized I’m pretty susceptible to those impulse purchases.
So recently, whenever I find myself standing in front of a bag of chips, granola, candy, or some other processed snack that I don’t actually need, I stop, look at the price, open my Bitcoin app, and buy that exact dollar amount of BTC instead.
My hope is that over the next six months I can slowly rewire my brain. Instead of getting a short-lived dopamine hit from food that doesn’t move me toward my goals, I redirect that impulse toward something that aligns with my long-term goals.
I fully recognize that an impulse buy is still an impulse buy, and Bitcoin is obviously a volatile asset. I’m not pretending this is some guaranteed financial strategy. But if the alternative was spending that money on junk food anyway, I’d rather own a little more Bitcoin. Best case, I lose weight while stacking sats. Worst case, Bitcoin drops and I keep buying over time while still improving my health.
Has anyone else intentionally redirected an unhealthy habit into buying Bitcoin—or investing in general? Maybe replacing gambling, drinking, smoking, or some other impulse with stacking sats?
I’m less interested in whether Bitcoin goes up or down and more interested in whether this kind of habit substitution actually changes behavior over the long run.

Long ago, when Bitcoin first hit $1K, I remember thinking, maybe there's something to this after all. I should buy a few BTC. The worst that could happen is I'd lose it all, and I'd already lost more than that in normal market swings.
Classic FOMO.

Spoken with so much confidence yet said nothing. Imagine complaining that all BTC does is to appreciate against the rate of inflation like that isn’t a phenomenal use-case. I can also tell you’re from the first world lol if something protects you from debasement, that is a great use-case, you’re just too stupid to realize the importance. 

Ah… So… Does one need quantum supremacy to hack the full BTC blockchain, then?

OP I like the question, it’s a relevant question to anyone who has invested in BTC for a few years at least. I personally am an investor who invests and alters my portfolio every year or so. I am also a financial professional by trade. When my BTC grew bigger than any other portfolio I had, I did not sell any but small chippy amounts prior to the 2021-2022 bear market and wishing I had. I did aggressively accumulate though during that time and so obviously 2024-2025 were amazing massive gains for me in total. I decided to strategically sell 22% of my total BTC near where I thought was the top so I sold 4 times between $99k and $120k. I’m glad I did. I rebalanced those after tax profits into other things, and have begun to aggressively re-accumulate back to my original BTC. After a 50% drop in the price, you can imagine I call this a win. This is my personal story and 2 cents. Good luck!

FAIR pricing on cryptocurrency trades. 1 % is ridiculous.
After four trades, not being executed, and missing out, I will NEVER, EVER trade cryptocurrency with Fidelity again.
Until I can transfer to another exchange, the BTC sits in Fidelity, and all other crypto investments are with another exchange. #RIPOFF

I started DCA’ing recently (I just now have the income to afford investments). The philosophy and inflation are definitely reasons I’m still sold on BTC, but for me the turning point was seeing the government take interest in BTC. If the government is interested, there’s value. Politicians are always looking for ways to squeeze money into their wallets.

I purchased my first 1 BTC in 2017, cost me $2k. The excitement as it rose in value was great, but me being nieve/new to investing in anything, and my intolerance for loss had me selling it for basically what I paid when it was on its way down. Boy do I regret doing that 😆.
