Most long-term holders I've seen fall into one of three camps, and which one fits depends on what "retirement" actually means to you here.
Camp one: never sell, because they view bitcoin itself as the retirement plan, not a slice of one. Camp two: rebalance with new contributions only, directing future paychecks into other assets rather than selling BTC, so they avoid a taxable event and let the winner keep running. Camp three: set a hard percentage band (say, "if BTC ever exceeds 70% of net worth, trim back to 60%") and mechanically execute it regardless of feelings, precisely because "I'll decide when it feels right" is how people end up never selling and never diversifying either.
The one thing worth checking regardless of camp: is that Bitcoin actually in self-custody? A lot of people obsess over the allocation question while the coins are still sitting on an exchange or in a custodial retirement wrapper, which is a bigger risk than being "too concentrated."

This is only my third bitcoin cycle; so I’m new to BTC. I was a hodler, but now I know better. taking profits in fiat, which allows me to buy more BTC exposure if I so choose to do so, makes more sense for me. This last downturn I capitulated. I sold almost all of my bitcoin exposure in tranches, I hold zero bitcoins now, and only have a few bitcoins worth of exposure sitting in ETFs in a tax advantaged account ( I know NYKNC). I took life changing profits, and at the same time, I left life changing profits on the table because of my conviction.
The fiat mindset: how many people are actually buying stuff using BTC? How much of your daily purchases do you do in BTC? It’s an honest question.

Keep accumulating BTC — that's it. I've been following this strategy for more than five years.

In terms of the number of wallets holding 0.1 BTC, that's something rare. These are statistics without any consideration of dollar value.

People will lost interest in BTC once money as a whole moves on chain . BTC needs an intermediary to do anything interesting, unless you jump through tons of hoops or are dealing with a very complex programmed environment.

BTC the biggest memecoin in the space is the future as some altcoins with genuine more usacase than BTC will die, damn. Brutal... The world is indeed unfair..

This happened to me 5yrs ago.
I had 3/4 in brokerage and I put 1/4 into bitcoin.
BTC grew over 4x while my brokerage stayed pretty much the same or grew 10-20%
If we were at the top of the market I’d tell you to sell some BTC before the next crash (happens every 4 year - it’s normal) but right now we are closer to the bottom so I wouldn’t sell.
Also your capital gains taxes would probably be insane (unless you are at a low tax bracket with long-term holding - doesn’t sound like you are at a low tax bracket but I could be wrong)
If anything, you can always use the Buy, Borrow, Die strategy with some of your BTC as a hedge and put that $ into the market to ease your mind.

hat jemand Erfahrung mit Bitpanda? Kann ich dort BTC kaufen und an ein Wallet schicken? Ich habe für 10 Euro Bitcoin gekauft, kann bei "send" aber nur an ein Bankkonto überweisen. Wenn ich 10 Dollar BTC kaufe, bekomme ich die Meldung, dass ich nicht genug Guthaben habe um zu verschicken.

I just found out two things. One that CashApp allows sending to Lighting wallets and two that the vendor accepts Litecoin...
Unfortunately for me I'm testing it out and CashApp doesn't recognize the QR code of the seller as a Lighting wallet. "Please scan a valid BTC or Lighting QR code".

How much BTC ?

This sounds like a user issue than a company being scammers. Your account of action makes no sense, why use 2 different companies and what hospital accepts BTC.

Got my first 0.005 BTC today!

The next bitcoin halving is set for April 2028. If you believe that there is a 4-year cycle and that the halving is a key date, create a written plan to take some money off the table in stages once BTC exceeds its ATH and up to the halving. The key thing is to make a written plan now, print it out and keep it in your office or bedroom. You don’t want to get caught up in the euphoria of a bull market and abandon your plan made back when the market was down.

Why would i use bitcoin to send money for an average of 5 dollars per transaction when i can just do that for free with my current currency?
Being decentralized doesnt mean anything when the currency is purely built on hype. Let me know why we dont use BTCcash, insteads of regular BTC, if you indeed want to use it as a "currency"
Supply doesnt really mean much if no one is going to use your currency, it just becomes another rare asset like a vintage watch, or a painting.
Well its been like 20 years and there are no steps being taken to make this a currency, only a hyped up asset like NFTs. Hype is the keyword, not useful.
Do i trust my currency? Why shouldnt i? If my currency fails, the whole world economy will fails. Money will become obsolete, at that point i might aswell invest in food and bricks to built a shelter.
