1. Nobody told you to buy them.
2. Already mentioned that BTC and ETH are excluded
3. Its obviously a question for people who like alts.
I swear most people read 3 to 5 words from a question/post here and just comment anything else irrelevant to the question asked...

🙋🏻‍♂️
I got like 0.2 and my brother got a full 1.0 BTC.
So we jus forget about it and said it either goes to $0 or $1mil, at which time we’ll pay off the remainder of our mortgages and just be comfortable for the rest of our lives. But in the mean time, yeah, we’re out here HODLING & hustling.

Buying BTC in a P2P transaction isn't illegal last I checked.. but expect some questioning from authorities.. it'd be up to the seller to make sure they cover their footsteps enough to not be identified/snitched on.

I’d rather light my money on fire than buy any of the alts you listed.
I’d buy and do own significant BTC, ETH. All others (maybe SOL or I’d have to research XRP) I’d just hold USDC.

If you could only hold 3 to 5 altcoins (excluding BTC and ETH) for the next bull run which would you choose ? And why? (optional)

The worst part of this post is that alts might outperform BTC by a tremendous margin from here for the next couple years. I know this will get downvoted but this is my 4th cycle and I’m starting to rotate out of BTC into other stuff right now.

Every whole Bitcoiner started with less than 1 BTC. 😄
Congrats on taking the first step. The hardest part isn't buying your first sats—it's staying consistent over the years.

Quite honestly, it was just boring. No interest from anywhere, no hype, everyone forgot about BTC. It was like it never existed to the normal crowd.

When uninformed it’s terrifying.
I got in early enough, but only after educating myself. So, while I didn’t like the feeling of “I could have bought X amount more if I had waited” while I surveying months of red candles, I read and listened to everything I could get my hands on related to BTC in the meantime.
Nearly two full cycles later, I am unmoved by the “It’s going to zero” posts and I instead find lower fees for my DCA and accumulate as much as I can.
In short, I feel hope

Because it is. Do you really believe that after over a decade of going nowhere, LTC will just magically reach "1/3rd of BTC" for no reason?

Congrats! :)
Def take a very long and clear minded look at your ultimate plan. Can you afford it lose this money? Can you afford to DCA and if so in what increments. Set up automation.
Do you have a cold storage wallet? Vital to proper storage for Bitcoin. Especially if you’re HODL’ing because this is a very high conviction, long game.
I have some building that goes to cold storage, but am considering doing all I do contribute to my BTC ETF holding. But that’s a personal matter, as well as some tax advantages and needed CSW upgrade.
Do your best to do automation things you can afford, don’t check everyday/follow specific news about BTC etc. you’ll drive yourself crazy!
Wishing you and everyone the best of luck!

The one which makes me money. I don't know why memecoins are frowned upon. BTC the biggest meme coin in the space is praised heavily..

💯...ETHs tokenomics are already solid. Nothing to fix...
if supply grew over 5% a year I would agree but its currently growing under 2% a year while adoption is growing rapidly.
There is also a % of Eth lost per year. May be small but every year there will be people that pass away without a plan or just lose access.
If people think under 2% supply increase is causing too much sell pressure they need to
compare BTC...supply growth may be similar to ETH but on top of that there is a BTC energy/miner upgrade sell pressure from mining. That cost paid in BTC is much higher than the 2% supply growth.
Eth should focus on big picture...there is a lot of adoption coming, under 2% supply growth is healthy, DATs and stakers making 2.5 to 3% rewards incentivises holding ETH.
Lets continue to incentivise holders and focus on adoption!!

About 4.54 million Bitcoin addresses currently hold at least 0.1 BTC. So we just narrowed down your number from 210 to less than 4.5M

>I wanted something that allowed me to see the true value in BTC in my spending habits
If so, why are the US dollar values in big black numbers, but the Bitcoin values are in little tiny pale gold numbers, under the US dollar values. Seems like it should be the other way around if you want people to start thinking in sats instead of dollars.

So your own net worth may or may not exceed $7k (depending on how much BTC you have, and regardless of your intent to HODL). But the question was why you claim that more than 99% of the population has a net worth below $7k.

1 year and BTC is getting raped by inflation whereas gold and silver aren't. This was my arguement. They're truly hedge against inflation because during geopolitical instability people flocked to precious metals
