Index ETFs are structurally a good idea — the problem is how the index is constructed.
**The good:** Diversification, passive exposure without managing keys, and lower cognitive overhead than picking individual assets. For institutional and retail investors who want crypto exposure without deep research, an index ETF makes sense.
**The concern with market-cap weighting:** BTC dominates at ~55% of crypto market cap, so a market-cap-weighted index is basically "mostly BTC with some ETH and a long tail of noise." You'd get near-identical exposure to just holding BTC + ETH directly but with more complexity and management fees.
**The "barriers to entry" question is interesting:** The T.Rowe list you shared includes SHIB and DOGE, which tells you inclusion criteria aren't purely about fundamentals — market cap and liquidity matter more to ETF structurers than tech or utility. That means well-funded meme coins can crowd out serious infrastructure projects. Not ideal.
**Concentration risk over time:** The assets that survive regulation, remain liquid, and have SEC-acceptable custody solutions will keep winning ETF inclusion. That list probably stabilizes around 5-8 assets long-term, not 15. New chains need to clear compliance, custody, and liquidity hurdles that take years.
**Verdict:** Good product category, execution matters enormously. An ETF tracking BTC/ETH/SOL with equal or risk-adjusted weighting would be more interesting than market-cap soup with SHIB in it.

No,
Although i was the Guy who said in 2023 when GOLD was trading at $1,983 (₹48,000/- INR) Targeting $3,700 -$4,000 (₹1,35,000 INR)
Do check out the Analysis, let me know what you think 💭

BTW, If this was the projection of GOLD it was very obvious the adopted Digital Gold BITCOIN will tag along. BTC was Trading at $20k in march 2023 and was going to hit 125K 🎯
i wasn't surprised, as i know what im visualizing

Ok, lets give an example;
Dave has 1 BTC. Dave uses half of it and has not paid / declared his taxes.
The tax authority in question, have exhausted their options and 'tainted / blacklisted' Dave's address as he has commit a crime.
Dave now, opts to sell his 0.5 on an exchange p2p or otherwise, and I buy it.
As I have brought it and it is associated with Daves previous actions...
My question is; Would it affect me as a purchaser, or if I was to purchase it, would I encounter any difficulty if I was to legitimately use it, e.g to purchase goods etc.

Hope this helps

I mean CEXes, ETFs, and similar that have BTC on paper but only becomes real when someone withdraws to their own wallet. Then they need to buy, and the price goes up.
The problem is people are buying BTC on paper but that doesn't impact the price because the physical demand lags behind.

You're cherry picking so hard. I can do that too. BTC beat anything anywhere in the last 15 years. There you go. Or BTC is up 300% today from Nov 2022. Wow this is fun.
Truth is if you simply bought btc in the second half of mid term years and sold in q4 of post halving years you'd be golden.

Seeing the 3 main ones, BTC, ETH, and LTC- makes sense. They’re the global standards over the past decade.

To me, seeing 0.5 in 12 months is highly optimistic. When looking at the famous 4 year cycle BTC chart, we just started bear market. I believe it will sink down more this year, especially in the Q4, and after that it will start going up again, slow and steady; and Cronos will finally start to follow it. My bet is CRO 0.5 in 2028.

The latest prospectus from T.Rowe lists these coins as eligible assets for their Price Active ETF just approved for launch by the SEC recently. (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, AVAX, LTC, DOT, DOGE, HBAR, BCH, LINK, XLM, SHIB, SUI)
https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2089855/000199937126013250/tknz-424b3\\\_062326.htm
Curious over time, how many other coins will actually be able to compete for inclusion in these ETFs over these more established coins?
Are the barriers to entry just too hard to breach and new coins won’t have a chance?
Are crypto index ETFs even a good idea? Or should filers stick to single coin ETFs and let the market decide the winners?

90% BTC allocation. The last few years I invested everything into BTC. Slowly diversifying into MSCI World and building a small cash reserve just to stay liquid in an emergency.

And then buy back at the lows

Got it. But how do we know when the price has actually bottomed out?
At this point, do you think there's a higher chance that BTC will fall further, or is it more likely to move higher from here?

Hi all, I am looking to buy BTC p2p, but before I do, is there a way in which I can check if the coins I purchase in advance are tainted? Is there a website or something this can be verified on?
I want to check this to avoid any problems in utilising the coin/s once purchased.
Thanks

Whether you can admit it (or not), alt currencies have created and holds its own niche. BTC integration into our financial markets signals legitimacy through institutional adoption, though other utility exists outside of this. Take all the time you need

You're wrong, you can use DEX aggregator like
https://switcher.finance/,
it has better rates than CEX and no counterparty risk (I lost 6 figures on MEXC when i deposited BTC to just
convert to USDT..)

Many cryptos did good last cycle tho. BnB, XRP, SOL outperformed BTC rois and bunch of other alts and memes too. But the question is did you take profits or kept holding and rode all the way down?
