1 BTC is very far away if you’d start to dca now. Still not totally impossible but maybe in the future 0.1 is enough for whatever your financial goal is :)

BTC represents about 5% of my portfolio too. The rest is non-crypto. I aim for a nice balance of low/medium/high risk assets.
To me BTC is a new, what I personally call, “ultra high risk” asset class. It’s my best performing asset no doubt, but Ive been through 3 cycles up tanking and face ripping gains. I have faith in it for sure, which is why I believe that a 3-5% allocation is important to have in any balanced portfolio.

As someone once said: “Money is nothing if you have plenty of it. Money is everything if you if you have not enough of it.”
You know nothing about my life either, but given my situation is kinda similar I would trade my “life experience so far” for that amount of wealth at 18yo me. Even better if that comes with flat or house. I would have invested some in BTC as I wanted but had no resources at that time. I could buy a house when it was cheap (now it is 3x that value). Yeah… fuck those experiences of struggle to find job, rebranch while experiencing first wave of crippling depression because my master engineering diploma was basically worthless in my country of origin as government simply lied.
All that struggle to only get half the money someone gets at the very beginning of their adult adventure… yeah mate that is bs xD

In the past 5 years. The XOM stock has been outperforming BTC. It's brutal for crypto when a stock got more gains than a crypto. BTC had enterprises like strategy pouring millions into BTC, a president shilling it. Yet BTC couldn't outperform a stock. Brutal!!!

BitMEX basically invented the modern crypto derivatives market. Before them, you couldn't get meaningful leverage on BTC without going through shady OTC desks. Arthur Hayes and Ben Delo built the perpetual futures contract as we know it — the funding rate mechanism, the insurance fund, the liquidation engine. Every major exchange that came after (Binance Futures, Bybit, OKX) copied that architecture.
The irony is they got taken down not by competition but by regulatory failure — specifically the BSA/AML charges from DOJ and FinCEN in 2020. Hayes and Delo pleaded guilty, paid massive fines, served no jail time. But the reputational damage was done and Binance had already captured the market.
The last few years BitMEX tried to pivot to a regulated product but they were too late and too small. Hyperliquid, dYdX, and GMX showed that the next generation of perp DEXes don't need KYC at all.
A few practical reminders for anyone with old accounts: September 23 is the shutdown date, all positions get force-closed at market, and apparently remaining funds incur inactivity fees. Worth checking if you have anything sitting there from 2017-2020.

Most have more utility value than BTC and if it's about adoption then memers are the better option, strangely enough.

I’ll buy some for you and hold it in a wallet until you’re 18 and then sell it to at current price ($64000), whether BTC goes to $1 or $1 million. Deal?

you were talking about between now and Autumn, where you did not see any room for a move to the downside. I do see room for a 2-3c relief towards end of summer before the low is confirmed in the increasing after-summer-market.
But I'm not currently thinking about trading, other than maybe a BTC 10x. But I am not sure if 58k low to 70k at end of 2027 is worth it. 20%\*10=200% gain. very long and very small for a 10x position.

This is actually a meaningful disclosure change that's getting buried in the headline.
Strategy's original "BTC Yield" metric tracked the change in BTC per diluted share over time — but it had a flaw: it didn't show that the ~$7B+ in convertible notes have a senior claim on the company's assets, including the BTC. If Strategy ever had to liquidate or restructure, noteholders get paid before common shareholders see a dollar. The BTC "per share" number was technically accurate but economically misleading.
The new approach that accounts for senior claims gives a clearer picture of what MSTR common shareholders actually own on a risk-adjusted basis. Effectively: (total BTC × BTC price - face value of senior notes) / shares outstanding. That's the residual equity value, not just gross BTC exposure.
Why it matters: A lot of retail traders use MSTR as leveraged BTC exposure without fully understanding the capital structure. The notes create a situation where BTC could be at $50k and MSTR equity is worth less than the gross BTC implies, because the debt holders capture the first slice.
Ironically, this more honest reporting might actually be *better* for the stock long-term — institutional buyers who model the capital structure correctly will find the valuation more defensible than one built on a metric that obscured leverage.

Doge didn’t really had any relief rally . Each month has been worst than the previous one since the Cheeto tarrifs started ( actually even earlier than that , since November 2024 after the cycle top) . The only exception was August 2025 where doge actually had a rally . And also October was better than September if I remember well , when BTC topped . Just before the Halloween crash .

That's a solid point about cycles changing the rules, I think many people got caught in the same trap of waiting for the pattern to repeat exactly. The Trump era really did make everything act weird, nothing followed the old playbook anymore.

I had similar experience with Raydium, was staring at that 10x and thinking it will go higher because all the analysts were saying alt season is coming. Then suddenly AI narrative took over and everything else just bled out slowly. The market dont care about our target prices.

What you said about Bitcoin being safer core position is probably the most important takeaway here. I moved most of my portfolio back to BTC after my altcoins kept dipping and at least I can sleep now without checking charts every hour.

BTC was an experiment. The creators weren't expecting it to become as popular as it did. You can't challenge the existing banking system (which was the inspiration behind it's creation) while sitting inside it. You have to act as a separate alternative which was why the underlying technology was decentralised Blockchain with new tokens being created as the reward for processing/legimising transactions. This design could have allowed it to act completely independently from the existing financial system. However, too few coins and too much energy required to make them was the second flaw. The casino that appeared around crypto completely undermined the original vision. This was the existing banking system absorbing crypto into itself as a means of protecting itself. If it had been a genuine threat it would have been banned very quickly. Financial institutions would have lobbied hard for it.

Yes, although increased integration of stablecoins into the economy would inevitably have positive effects on BTC.
