nobody can predict short-term price with any accuracy but the signals worth tracking:
ETF inflows (mentioned above) are probably the highest-signal indicator right now — when institutional flows go consistently positive for 2+ weeks, that tends to be a leading indicator before retail FOMO kicks in.
funding rates: when funding goes highly positive (longs paying a lot to shorts), that's a sign the rally is leveraged and fragile. neutral or slightly positive funding during a price rise is healthier.
exchange BTC reserves: consistently declining reserves = net outflow to cold storage = longer-term bullish signal as supply on exchanges shrinks.
macro: DXY and 10-year yields still matter. dollar strength tends to be a headwind for BTC even with ETF cushion now.
honest answer: nobody knows next month's price, but those metrics tell you whether the current move is structurally sound or sentiment-driven.

I recently noticed something that doesn’t seem right and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
I have a recurring BTC buy set up on OKX. My latest purchase converted **20 USDC** into **0.00030894889 BTC**, which works out to an execution price of **64,735.63**
**At** 16:54 CST for BTC USDC convert
At the time my order executed the OKX BTC USDC spot price was around 64100 but I got filled at 64735 almost 1% higher. I know Convert has a spread but 1% for a $20 BTC buy seems crazy. A normal spot market order shouldnt have anywhere near that much slippage.

I don't try to call bottoms. I'm more interested in seeing Bitcoin become more productive over time, and TBVs are part of that bigger picture because they give native BTC the potential to participate in more use cases instead of just sitting idle.

the dismissive responses here aren't wrong per se — most altcoins underperform BTC over any meaningful timeframe. but "all alts are dead" misses the actual question, which is about approach, not whether it's possible.
what actually separates people who make money on alts from those who don't:
1. picking alts with real revenue — protocols that generate fees, have token buybacks/burns, and would survive a bear market because users actually need them (ETH, AAVE, UNI, etc) vs pure speculation plays
2. position sizing — keeping alts to 15-25% of portfolio max, so BTC/ETH carry the bulk and alt losses don't wipe gains
3. entry timing — alts tend to outperform BTC late in bull cycles when BTC dominance peaks and capital rotates. buying alts in sideways/bear market is where most people get burned.
4. setting profit targets in advance — alts are volatile by design, and people who made money typically had a "sell 50% at 2x" discipline rather than HODLing until it reversed.
none of this guarantees anything, but those are the actual variables that matter.

the LTC test-run approach was smart. for estate liquidation of small amounts, the real picture:
for the swap layer: Thorchain is the most trustless option for cross-chain without custody — ETH to native BTC, LTC, etc., with on-chain verification of the whole route. fixed-rate services (ChangeNow, FixedFloat) give you a locked quote so you're not exposed to slippage during execution.
the KYC bottleneck eventually reappears when you need fiat — most banks will ask questions about a sudden deposit from a crypto source regardless of how you got there. keeping a simple paper trail (screenshot of wallet, brief note about estate context) helps if that comes up later.
for the actual consolidation: ETH or BTC are the easiest end-state to off-ramp from, so converting everything there first then going fiat is cleaner than routing through LTC. Kraken's verification queue is annoying but their support is good for estate situations if you contact them directly explaining the context.

I don’t think the amount of money from people that would use btc on cold wallets would sustain a BTC price of more than $1000. And if they aren’t using cold wallets then they might as well use tokenized RWAs

If you have a Robinhood, Fidelity, Scwhab, WeBull, or other brokerage account, you can buy either IBIT or FBTC.
These are both 1:1 BTC ETFs. They trade like a stock. No need to keep a wallet. No need to report digital asset transactions every year on your tax return.
Also, easier to buy or sell (but subject to market trading hours, typically 9:30-4pm EST M-F).

Baby vs Supernova type of comparison, back in 2010. Now that they're somewhat similar in size, looks like Bitcoin is falling behind. I don't expect BTC to outpace S&P in the future at all. Basically everybody that wanted in had plenty of ways at this point, even ETN/ETCs... yet we're still stagnating.
And don't come at be with the 4 years cicle bs now, please. That is some woodoo type shit. It was like that in the past, but past isn't a valid indicator for the future.

Hmm interesting I’m not really a fan of RWAs for the same reasons I don’t like paper gold or BTC ETFs. Why would I pay a custodian to not only hold the asset or worse a claim to it but also hold my money and I get… a token. It seems like a way to strip people of not just their money but the assets as well, part of the you’ll own nothing and like it narrative. Idk to me I see more people than ever interested in tangible things that’s why collectibles and things like watches have sky rocketed.
