For Zoetis, we don't need to count on the cycle turning alone.
What we can rely on is a consistent, disciplined flywheel that has driven results over time.
They also have 2 pending blockbusters ($100m annual sales at least) with expected approvals in 2026.
In addition, Zoetis continues to gain approvals for existing medicines, such as Convenia, Apoquel Chewable, ALPHA JECT micro 4, and Ketofen, across various markets.
US revenue in Q1 2026 overall declined 8% YoY, while INTL grew 10% YoY, so there is also significant geographic diversity.
Also, while OA pain is down and key derm is down, companion animal diagnostics grew 10% YoY, signaling that spending is resilient in urgent care/diagnostics. In my view, this confirms that consumer pressure is the driver and cyclical, yet pet owners still dearly love their pets in an emergency situation.
