Hey I'm retiring in 4 weeks! I'm right there with you. VDC sounds like a good idea, however, it is still a sector bet. Why not look at USMV, and global cousins ACWV, EEMV, EFAV for low volatility equity exposure? That way you're REALLY covered... not betting on a sector, if you go global not betting on one country or region, but companies are selected for actual low volatility behavior.

That way you're REALLY covered... not betting on a sector, if you go global not betting on one country or region, but companies are selected for actual low volatility behavior.
