Tamil Nadu has built a strong network of industrial parks that has attracted companies across automobiles, electronics, renewable energy, aerospace and other manufacturing sectors. In 2026, several existing SIPCOT locations are seeing fresh investment commitments, project approvals and expansion plans. These developments are adding to industrial activity across established manufacturing hubs as well as emerging locations.
Gangaikondan
Vikram Solar has signed an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu for a proposed ₹15,037 crore investment at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli, in July 2026. The investment is focused on establishing a battery energy storage systems (BESS) manufacturing facility, which is expected to create around 2,670 jobs. Separately, the company has commissioned a 6 GW solar PV module manufacturing facility at its Gangaikondan campus, with plans to expand into solar cells, wafers and ingots. The 186-acre campus, along with TP Solar’s existing 4.3 GW solar manufacturing facility, could further strengthen Gangaikondan’s position as a renewable-energy manufacturing hub.
Shoolagiri
Aequs Group has signed an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu for a proposed ₹4,000 crore investment to develop an aerospace and defence manufacturing cluster at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Shoolagiri, Krishnagiri district, in February 2026. The project is expected to create around 7,000 jobs, with Aequs contributing approximately ₹1,900 crore as the anchor investor. The cluster will focus on aircraft engine components, gearbox parts, landing gear systems, precision machining and aerospace systems and sub-assemblies, strengthening Shoolagiri’s position as an emerging aerospace and advanced manufacturing hub.

Oragadam
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has proposed an additional ₹4,000 crore investment in Tamil Nadu to strengthen its BharatBenz commercial vehicle business, under a non-binding MoU signed with the state government in August 2026. The investment is expected to support product development, manufacturing, research and development, infrastructure and future technology readiness, while creating around 400 jobs. DICV’s operations are anchored by its 400-acre integrated manufacturing and R&D facility at Oragadam, which employs more than 4,000 people and works with nearly 400 local suppliers.
Panapakkam
Grand Atlantia Panapakkam SEZ Developers Private Limited has received approval for a ₹385 crore project at the SIPCOT SEZ in Panapakkam, Ranipet district. The project was cleared by the MEPZ Unit Approval Committee on May 18, 2026, and is expected to create around 5,180 jobs. The project was part of a larger ₹450 crore investment package approved by the committee in Tamil Nadu.
Sriperumbudur
Taiwan-based Adata Technology, through its wholly owned arm Adata Semiconductor Private Limited, laid the foundation stone for a ₹931 crore DRAM memory module and flash drive manufacturing facility at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur on February 26, 2026. The facility is expected to create around 823 jobs and will manufacture memory modules and flash drives for desktops, laptops, servers and other computing systems. The project stems from an MoU signed with the Tamil Nadu government on January 8, 2024, while the February 2026 foundation-laying marked a key step towards its execution. Adata is also the first Taiwanese company to establish memory module manufacturing in India.
Why These SIPCOT Parks Are Attracting Investments

Established industrial ecosystems: Locations such as Oragadam and Sriperumbudur already have large manufacturing bases, suppliers and supporting infrastructure.
Sector-specific clusters: Tamil Nadu is developing specialised industrial clusters for sectors such as aerospace, defence, electronics, automotive and renewable energy.
Improving infrastructure: Industrial parks are supported by road connectivity, utilities, water supply and other common infrastructure required for large manufacturing projects.
Availability of industrial land: SIPCOT parks provide planned industrial land, allowing companies to establish large-scale manufacturing facilities within designated industrial zones.
Expansion beyond Chennai: Investments in Gangaikondan and Shoolagiri show that industrial activity is also expanding into southern and western Tamil Nadu, rather than remaining concentrated around Chennai.

Will SIPCOT Investments Boost Property Demand?
Property listings across these SIPCOT regions range from around ₹3.3 lakh to ₹5 crore, depending on the location, property type and size. The investments across these five SIPCOT parks could create thousands of jobs, attract workers and businesses, and increase demand for housing and rentals. As industrial activity grows, rising employment and workforce movement could support residential demand and potential property price appreciation in and around these industrial hubs.
