India’s defence sector has received a major boost, with the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approving capital acquisition proposals worth approximately ₹2.12 lakh crore on October 26, 2026.
With around 82% of the approved procurements expected to be sourced from Indian industry, the announcement puts domestic defence manufacturing, aerospace, defence electronics, counter-drone technology and military mobility in focus.
