I’ll add that imo the CACE methodology is solid and evidence backed, but likely to be relatively modest in effect.
There is a real difference in price: VCN is 0.06% and CACE is >0.19% (it’s too new to know the final price). This means CACE has to outperform VCN by more than 13 basis point per year on average to beat it net-of-fees. Probably will have to be closer to 17bp once we get the full MER.
Similar funds by the same company in the US have gotten that sort of performance boost but it’s been close.
