Dude put 300k in BASA ... wtf is that lol ... That is a grade A stupid move .

just a psa, i know almost nothing about crypto or bitcoin or anything but i need some help regarding this situation
from what i know, my bf joined a project which was launching a coin called BASA and it was set up by someone who had helped him previously gain a decent sum of money off crypto and trading. All his extra savings and extra disposable income has gone straight into this coin and project, it started a few months back and my first suspicions began when launching the coin kept getting delayed and delayed and delayed. however it finally launched, but then a delay in marketing or something, now he's come and told me it was a scam and that the person who set it up has ran away with 300k dollars. He has told me a developer who has contacts with a bank in the country he lives or something like that is able to take legal action against him, but does this mean my bf will get any of his money back? i don't know what to do in this situation, he's been quite upset and i wish there was more i could do.
