I was there. You are wrong.
I Installed hundreds of 7513s and 12000 series, and had my hands all over the very first Juniper M40s.
This was why standard chassis were important and the modular cards were being swapped out constantly. BGP memory size kept going up so you needed more RAM, SNMP polling hitting the CPUs, latency needed to go down, bandwidth kept going up.
The whole thing still collapsed on itself anyway because greed will always overshoot wherever the edge of the cliff is.
Nvidia does have the advantage that their cards run so fucking hot that they burn out after two or three years.
The question is if this is early 1997 or late 1999.
