I don't know if it would fit the very specific use I have for SGOV. I have it for short term holdings where I don't want to risk my principal, from vacation money (sub 1 year) to the car fund (up to 5 years). I will want a better yield once interest rates go down and the zero risk return rate starts cratering, but TFLR holdings are not exactly what I would call investment grade. 64.6% of the current holdings are rated as B (material default risk is present, but a limited margin of safety remains) with another 11.9% bellow B. It is yielding pretty good now but it indeed has a good amount of risk built in. I'm already mourning the end of high interest rates. For people with debt and in need of a mortgage it was horrible, for savers it was, to put it in technical terms, fucking awesome. I'm actively trying to sort out where my short term money should go next.
