I hold many - below is a pretty good handful. This is not all encompassing…but kinda close. I picked up most at the bottom during the covid crash. On some there was no real reasoning at first - I just wanted in heavy and I read a lot and ck’d historic highs and knew the market would recover to a point so I grabbed what I could and Picked up others along the way over the years.

I already sold it all :( Going to go with a 50% SPLG, 30% SPDW, and a 20% TFI portfolio once my sale finalizes. I am a doctor and almost paid off my loan so barely started this with <20k so far. I plan on dumping like 60% of my paycheck in this every month so I wanted to switch now to all ETF's since I hear they have a slight edge for mutual funds in a taxable brokerage account.

Will be hard to ever beat FXAIX and me personally would get it up to 10k and by then you will have more experience into which direction you want to go when that time comes. If your anything like me and many others you will want to start playing around with 10% or less just to fill active. But yeah FXAIX has been incredible for me,I have been in it for 4 years and I’m up 34% in my 401k. I also use sp 500 in my Roth as my main position as well but with a different fund SPLG. I’m super long on the sp 500.

I just opened a taxable account at age 50. Should I start with SPLG?

SPMO out of these two. Personally I prefer a three fund portfolio, specifically: SPLG, VGT, SPYI

IV will be on the lower side for most of these symbols but covered call is still tradable if you opt for a longer duration or place your trades closer to ATM

If this is in tax-advantaged accounts, you can sell at any time to change your portfolio.
While you do miss out on mid and small caps with SPLG, that's not actually a big deal in practice and so I would lump VTI in there as well (those two are much more similar than QQQM is to either).
>If we use cash to purchase VXUS would we have any blind spots?
Sure:
* us bonds
* ex-US bonds
* real estate
* commodities / precious metals
Not everyone needs to have all or even any of those though.

I wouldn’t put the bulk in stocks, but ETFs(SPLG and VGT). 2 stocks I have the most confidence in are AVGO and AJG, each holding about a 5% position in my portfolio.
