Not an expert, may be put the 401K in GPIX, GPIQ, SCHD, PBDC and CEFS. May be some part of it IWY/SCHG to leave room for growth.

I like ASGI & AOD at the moment along with FSCO. I own numerous CEFs along with QQQI, SPYI, DX, DX.C PBDC, BIZD. Anything with a good Total Return since the 2022 market crash and a consistent dividend history.

Those are great funds, but you may want to diversify away from covered calls. Here are some other great options to consider: PBDC, PFFA, CEFS, HIPS, CLOZ, and FSCO

I have QQQI 13% yield, ARDC 12%, SPYI 11%, EIC 10 %, PBDC 9%, RLTY 8%, UTG 7%, UTF 7%, SCYB 7%, PFFD 6%. Some are ETF and other are CEF.
The book the income factory list 68 funds the author has used and several examples. There is also Armchair income invest in similar way to the book. He list 38 funds he uses and he does detailed reviews of some of them and occationally interviews fund managers and the writer of The Income Factory. These are two very gould resources.
I am retired and live off of 80% of my income and reinvest the rest to hopefully keep up with inflation.

I'm also retired. I would be careful with all but DIVO and IDVO as the track record of every other covered call strategy ETF isn't good in one way, the NAV not keeping up with inflation. If you look at every CC ETF over the last year, the NAV didn't beat inflation (sans DIVO and IDVO).
The problem with the NAV not keeping up with inflation, is that means the yield may not keep up with inflation as well. So I support DIVO and IDVO (I own both), but I can't support any other CC ETFs.
Other ETFs to consider is PBDC (business development companies ETF), JBBB (CLO ETF), and BINC (multi-sector bond ETF). Actually, a super simple high-dividend portfolio is equal parts PBDC, DIVO, IDVO, JBBB, and BINC (rebalanced yearly).

Personally I find I like cash dividends for income. I have minimal ammount. in government bonds because the yields are so low. Right now some my favorite investments are QQQI 13%, ARDC 12%, SPYI 11%, EIC 10%, PBDC 9% RLTY 8%, UTF 7%, UTG 7%, SCYB 7%. PFFD 6%. I am getting about 5K of income a month from these sources.

It's possible, but typically only when you look at history to find those that were previously a success. Picking what will generate a 8% yield in the future without erosion (including inflation) is a lot more challenging. Also, we've had a really good market for the last 15 years (with a few short-lived pull-backs). Most investors shooting for 8% yields were not investing in the 2000's (I've been investing for 38 years).
I would agree that business development companies could be one of the better possibilities (I own PBDC). I don't believe many covered call strategy ETFs will have NAVs that outpace inflation as they're too yield-focused. If you look at the last 12 month price of virtually every CC ETF, they didn't beat inflation (JEPQ was -2.18% for example). The only exceptions are DIVO and IDVO, because they aim for a more sensible and realistic yields (4.5-5.5%). I own DIVO and IDVO.
In my opinion, a really good, simple, high-dividend yielding, and low-volatility portfolio is equal parts PBDC, DIVO, IDVO, JBBB, BINC. In the last 2 years, the yield is 7.83% and beta is 0.44. But, I wouldn't expect that yield to continue long-term.

You can get safe yields up to about 10%. QQQI 13% yield, ARDC12%, SPYI 11%, BIZD 11%, PBDC 9%. All of these would return more than 10K a month with 2 million invested. One e you get above these levels the risk starts to increase

Take the 2M and you can have them both.
1M in SPYI/QQQI/PBDC/PFFA/JBBB/BTCI/FSCO equally for income - weighted average of 13% annually across six asset classes with some managed risk for an fairly aggressive income slice without resorting to single stock covered call funds.
1M in VOO or VTSAX for growth.

I have about 6% in MAIN, even though I generally limit individual stocks to 5% of portfolio.
Nice dividends with usually an extra bonus dividend every month, plus almost 25% gain in 3 months by my chart. Historical performance not indicative, not investment advice, etc.
I also have a big chunk in ARCC and PBDC, even given PBDC's. obvious overlap.

I have SGOV (short-term treasury bills) as my cash position. Then I have some covered call ETFs. Then, things like ARES, PBDC, VOO, QQQ, ARCC, TSLA, MAIN. Little bit of diversification. I also have some crypto, BTC and etc.

Not more than 5% in any one holding, invest across various sectors and types of investments (REITS, CEF, MLP, Equity, Bonds, covered call etfs, etc). Some examples; JEPI, BND, BST, RLTY, CEFS, CLOZ, QQQI, FSCO, BALI, ADX, IDVO, IBIT, BTCI, BSM, MPLX, ARCC, PBDC, PFFA, etc. I like to hold RSP,SCHD, and VOO also. I don’t drip, I look at my portfolio a couple times a month and buy whatever is the best value at the moment. If nothing looks interesting I’ll park money in TLT or BND until I need it. Understand what you own, keep educating yourself constantly. Good luck on your journey

Never heard of BIZD before, but it looks like PBDC (much younger than BIZD) has way outperformed BIZD since inception. Slightly lower yield but has appreciated nicely in value. PBDC is great. Love it.

I agree that there is no guarantee that those equities will continue performing as they currently are. ARCC is pretty solid, though. It has been around since 2004, before the '08 housing market crisis, and is still growing and paying hefty dividends. It has a strong, established history. Even though things like PBDC and JEPQ that I mentioned are very young and don't have much history to evaluate.
OP doesn't seem to be trying to do it with his entire portfolio? He posted his portfolio in another comment on this thread, and it's very diversified. He has a lot of his portfolio in cash equivalents and bonds, which pay 4.5%+ reliably, just 1% shy of the dividend yield in his screenshot.
If OP really wants 8%+ reliably, he could invest into apartment complexes in growing cities and cashflow more than 8%, and then have growth as well from the properties appreciating and rents growing. That's a little more hands-on than just buying equities through brokerages, though.
I do agree that 8% overall yield on a large portfolio probably isn't the greatest move unless it's 8% yield on cost that has been achieved from investing consistently over a longer time frame. OP can hit his $120k annual dividend goal by 2028 just by DRIPing and continuing contributions, and his current yield is 5.5%.

There's no denying ARCC and PBDC have historically done very well. But there's no guarantee that will be the case going forward, and trying to pick what will return these kinds of returns going forward is a gamble.
I'm also not saying you can't have something that yields 8%. But trying to do it for an entire portfolio (as the OP is trying) isn't a good idea.

Another vote for PBDC, but I also own a bit of CSWC independently of it.
