You're asking for people to do a lot of homework.
Problem is you can't really correlate it to the year, but rather years of experience.
I gambled like nuts on the market back during Trump years. Barely made anything. Volmageddon wiped me from $100k savings to almost zero because I was just doing options and some idiot talked me into longing TVIX. It was me, I talked myself into it.
Covid post crash a few years later I made some real money, in particular TQQQ and GBTC did a lot of heavy lifting. Gains that year were something in the 120% range. I did take an early hit that year when averaging down on MORL/REML and they collapsed, but then recovered nicely with the rest of my account.
There was some continuation early 2021 with the ARKK nonsense happening. Every speculative stock could do no wrong, just throw a dart. Then it all came tumbling down again. SOS crypto miner scam almost knocked me out entirely.
2022 losses were in the 70% range for me. When SOXL hit $12 and lower, I basically yolo'd what was left of my account into it.
2023 I'm now a millionaire. 260% up for that year, with SOXL and TQQQ doing most of the heavy lifting. Trading in and out and riding the waves like a champ.
Early 2024 I took an early retirement, switched most of my account into dividend payers, and let the rest ride and playing wheel strats with options. Up 40% YTD.
