yea I think this is a really good point, and that's why I think it's not used for salvage (as ECMO is) -- because it's not at that capacity. Personally, I feel it's a bit like what Impella is in the MCS world, but here in the ventilation setting -- can be useful as support in cases that are not as sick to prevent deterioration to states that require full on ECMO
Again I think clinical data is lacking so my guess of how this fares against ECMO (or if there are similar systems out there for a fair comparison) is as good as anyone's. (Interestingly I recall reading somewhere that they are planning to submit FDA for 501K which would be odd if this is an entirely novel niche that they're carving out -- I may have misread tho)
