Diversification talaga OP. Lowers your risk in relation to a particular instrument/industry. Have your money deposited in different accounts: LTD, HYS, MP2, or you can also buy UITFs, ETFs, Stocks and Bonds, etc.

The right house at the right price may turn up next week, next month, or next year. Given that uncertainty, I'd leave it in the HYS.

Probably 90% of my money is in Fidelity but their margin rates are almost Shylock level. It does not matter in the self directed IRA but for just a regular trading account it does.
So I put about 25k in ‘MooMoo’ for the HYS rate and $300 worth of NVDA. I don’t like their trading interface and all the social aspect interactions they seem to be into.
I think I’m gonna move in to Public. They have a 1% uncapped match. Anyone trading there?

I have part of my direct deposit go to my HYS account on my brokerage. Most of my EF is in SGOV, the HYS only holds 1-3 months of EF. When it gets to 3-4mo of cash I transfer all but 1mo to the equities account and buy something.
