There’s a few reasonable options. If for a longer timeline and maximum leverage I like EDV (extended duration US treasuries). I think the safest option would be BNDW though, pretty similar to what Vanguard holds in a TDF

I think EDV is somewhat interesting right now, but I thought moreso a couple months back when 30-year treasuries went over 5%.
Also, not just a bond fund, but Fidelity's Capital and Income Fund (FAGIX) holds only ~22% equities, with ~51% currently in corporate bonds, and the rest mostly other debt instruments. And has a strong long term track record of returns over time. But that's a mutual fund, I don't think there's an ETF version of that one.

I prefer treasuries using VGLT (or EDV for *extra* long duration) for [reasons explained here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bogleheads/s/LxbAM3xOS0)

Are you so sure? EDV is TLT/ZROZ/GOVZ just because you're unfamiliar with the concept of long duration bonds doesn't mean you can dismiss it so easily. It took me awhile to learn about bond durations, and yeah the recent charts don't look great, BUT they are proven over decades of data.

You have too much money to be this confused about what to do with it. None of the funds you have here are bad at all though. Just a ton of overlap and redundancy, which will not kill you. Just realize it isn't as diversified as you may thing it is. I would condense it all to VT/VTI and add VGT in place of SMH. And do SGOV + EDV instead of just SGOV ( diversity of bond durations ) SCHD is fine to keep as well. Not familiar with HOVR.

I'm revisiting this and really seeing more about growth.
100% SVC since the 70's outperformed every other asset class when cashflows are included. The value premium effect is more profound than volatility harvesting. I'm suddenly feeling much more comfortable holding 40+% of US allocation in SCV and underweighting growth.
I can't bring myself to just ignore price to earnings, even when buying long-term. I'm convinced 15% or less of my portfolio should be SCHG, 20% VTV, 30% ex-US, 5% EDV.
I think I feel comfortable with a balance between low e.r. and optimized funds. If I get another 401K in the future, maybe I'll use more active funds in my IRA. For now, I don't see the utility of having 100% actively managed funds. I'm open to discussion though.
