Depends on the individual. I pissed my life up the wall until I was mid 40’s and now I’m playing catchup so my risk appetite is DW8 levels stupidity. Profitable though at this point in my journey. But I did start out via r/fiaustralia during Covid, yet after making 2% on VAS after a one year hold I started becoming a non believer and turned to the devil being PLS and DRE and TLG. I was already lurking this sub for ages, maybe a year or more, and had taken a decent position in IVV which was going ok. It wasn’t until last year when I sold PLS for a small loss that I got a taste for blood. Bought a speccy I’d been following for months MTM, then sold IVV in Feb this year for 30% gain and bought more MTM. TLG was evicted fairly quickly and I then went full retard; TMG 56k 3 month hold 120% realised. MTM still holding 600%. Old bae DRE 160% still holding. CRS 150 odd % still holding. PFE evens. Some others I couldn’t be arsed searching.
The losses though. ATYR pharma 35k -80%. PEN 31k -47%. APX -6%, OBM -5% (this one hurts). This is not comprehensive there are other transactions I can’t recall that are mostly immaterial.
