Capital Group High Yield Bond ETF

It seems like various Junk Bond ETFs are starting to hit the market. J.P. Morgan launched JPHY and Capital Group launched CGHY. Vanguard is launching VGHY in a few months.
I am new to investing and right now my Roth IRA contains VT and a small amount of BNDW. Is it considering these new options over BNDW or BND which most people seem to favor on here? I suppose if Bonds are supposed to reduce volatility a volatile Bond might not be the best bet?
My understanding is that these are just riskier bonds with higher potential returns. I went with VT and BNDW because I like the philosophy of owning the whole world. Are these a new risky version of trend chasing for bonds or is it untapped potential in the bond market?...or is it to early to tell?
