> yeah you’ve finally said it out loud
I'm sorry, was that a mystery to you? Should I have used a spoiler tag?
> Literally everything takes carbon to either produce and/or transport down the chain
Net zero carbon and net zero energy solutions exist for many things.
> And as someone who’s low income, the $233 increase of CAI from $539 to $772 won’t even come close to covering the increase in groceries, utilities, and goods.
Yes it will. The research is available if you want to actually look for it. But I doubt that, your mind was made up the moment someone said Trudeau did that.
> So for you to say It’S fOr ThE eNvIrOnMeNt lmao such a joke
It is for the environment. The money that is paid back to Canadians who are low income will more than offset the costs. The Canadians who end up losing have enough free money to do something about their costs and are now financially incentivized to do so. This isn't rocket science, it's very basic economics.
> who gives a flying fck about that when hundreds of thousands of Canadians are one rainy day away from bankruptcy or eviction?
Many people do. Included in those that do are the people who are calculating the rebate amounts so as to ensure a small wealth transfer from the rich to the poor.
If you are losing in this deal I thank you for your contribution to my budget.

yeah you’ve finally said it out loud:“if things that use more carbon are more expensive then people will buy those less”. Literally everything takes carbon to either produce and/or transport down the chain you brainlet, your clothes, your food, your electronics, everything. The carbon tax makes everything more expensive. And as someone who’s low income, the $233 increase of CAI from $539 to $772 won’t even come close to covering the increase in groceries, utilities, and goods.
