So wether it’s MKR or SKY they will have the same overall value?

The conversion to SKY is at a fixed ratio, there's no point in holding MKR anymore. Whether it goes up in value, esp compared to ETH is anyone's guess but they do have a lot of things going on like Spark.

Lapsed MKR holder out of the loop and looking for insight. Should I convert to SKY? Will MKR still hold value (and hopefully go up) if I don’t? Should I just sell all together and move on?
Have a small bit cause it used to be a non-eth favorite of this community back in the OG ethtrader/ethfinance days but haven’t kept up with it lately, appreciate any thoughts!

Well, it's that but also 1 MKR gets you 24000 SKY. Would you rather have 1 of something or 24,000 of something else? /s

What is the purpose of the conversion? I haven't dug into this yet. Is MKR ceasing to exist and will only continue as SKY?

Are we the same? I got the email and it made me realize I'm pretty out of touch with stuff. Sept 18 is the deadline. The penalty is 1% and increases by 1% every 3 months after so it's not too much even if you don't do it. You will need to move MKR out of CB and into a self-custody wallet to do the conversion. Someone mentioned there's a staking mechanism for SKY as well but I haven't looked into that.
