I’ve been digging into a project called **Aster**, a next-gen decentralized exchange that combines both **Spot and Perpetual trading**. Thought I’d share what I found and see what others think.
**What it is:**
* On-chain hub for global traders
* “Simple Mode” for one-click, MEV-free trades
* “Pro Mode” with hidden orders, grid trading, and even 24/7 stock perps
* Collateral can be liquid staking tokens (like asBNB) or yield-bearing stablecoins (USDF), which seems pretty efficient
* Runs on its own chain (“Aster Chain”), focused on high performance and privacy
**Key Stats (from CMC):**
* Price: \~$1.35
* Market Cap: \~$2.2B
* Supply: \~1.65B circulating / 8B total
* 24h Volume: \~$1.2B (seems like strong activity already)
**What I like:**
* Combo of DEX + perps across multiple chains (BNB, ETH, Solana, Arbitrum)
* Collateral innovation (staking tokens + stablecoins that earn yield)
* Both beginner-friendly + advanced features
**Risks / questions:**
* L1 chains are hard to sustain — adoption and security matter
* Regulatory risk (perps/derivatives)
* Competition with dYdX, GMX, etc.
* Token unlock schedule could be important to track
**My take:**
Feels like a promising but risky moonshot. If they deliver adoption across chains, upside could be big. But it’s still early and competitive.
Has anyone here used it yet? Curious how it stacks up vs dYdX/GMX.

I have a Coinbase One subscription and it says earn 2.07 APY on staked ETH on my account. Not sure if that is any higher than a non Coinbase One account. I primarily have Coinbase One because I buy Crypto daily and the lower to zero fees is a huge savings for $30 a month. I don't hold anything on Coinbase. Its sent to my Ledger and other wallets. I stake natively on-chain and earn the highest % unlike on Coinbase.

Of course it could just be me but there's something fascinating about the contrasting signals we're seeing with ETH right now. Jeffrey Wilcke, one of ethereums co founders, just moved 1,500 ETH (\~$6 million) to Kraken, and some are speculating he might sell more.
Meanwhile, at least 15 whale wallets bought over 406,000 ETH worth $1.6 billion in just the past two days. Thats not small money, we're talking about serious accumulation happening while a founder is potentially taking profits.
However, it's not necessarily bearish. Wilcke has done this before, he deposited $9.22 million to Kraken in August and previously moved $262 million worth, though Lookonchain suggested much of that was just shifting funds between wallets. The guy has been around since 2013 and stepped back from active development years ago.
The whale buying is happening during a 13 percent price drop over the past week. These are not retail FOMO buyers, they are accumulating through Kraken, Galaxy Digital, BitGo, and FalconX during weakness. Thats classic smart money behavior.
What strikes me is how normalized these massive transactions have become. A co founder selling $6M would have been front page news in 2017. Now it's just another data point while whales quietly accumulate billions.
Anyone else think this reflects ethereums evolution from speculative asset to institutional treasury holding? Even the selling feels more... professional?

All these new VC backed stablechains feel like a vampire attack on ETH. And no one in todays market cares about decentralization of the chain. They happily use a 1 day old chain run on a server to bridge $4bn and farm 30% APY

I had some ETH stolen from me and they all ended up on this address: 0x97ED9cC78cB40d0bF602Ba6Aee4764cc3f4dcc33
It seems like a very busy address so it is most likely some business address. Would any one know who the owner is for that address? It is not publicly tagged.

I am thinking about prescribing to Coinbase One for a higher staking % on my ETH, but it doesn’t specify by how much. Anyone know what it is? Does the % change every so often? Thanks!

Exactly, right when BTC is topping out and alt season will finally occur in Q4. I call this capitulation for sure. Ok, maybe BTC dominance will go up for one more round in October, but then ETH will fly after and then the liquidity ends of up in alts before it all collapses next year to reset the cycle. Patience is the most difficult thing, whether day trading, swing trading, or long term investing. It's what messes up most people in the end. But to play devils advocate, he might have been holding all the wrong alts - possible relics of past cycles that will go no where. For example, does anyone remember Peercoin, or Novacoin, or Feathercoin? They were to top coins in May 2013. Now they're dead.

Could someone explain to me how this would effect ETH, assuming it plays out accordingly?

I’m doing the BTC/ETH one and I like it, I wish they let us do custom ones also.

This isn't my first rodeo. When the sentiment is where it's at now the reverse always happens. Uptober is real. Look at Bitcoin/ETH/ALTS historical performance in August and Sept. Then sit back and R-E-L-A-X 4th quarter is going to be fun

Next Bitcoin if BTC dies? Bro that’s like asking who’s the next Michael Jordan if basketball gets deleted. ETH would flex for a bit, but let’s be real. Without BTC holding it down, this whole space turns into tribal Hunger Games.

Thank you for your view. The only things I think have value are BTC, ETH, BNB, and LTC. But I’m mostly in LTC and it underperformed and BTC and ETH are high now. Same as BNB. Which makes me think I’ll just have to gamble for now. Anyways, I’ll probably just take some time to recover the loss and not worry much about it for now. Thank you.

But again at this volume I just don’t see how that can’t very quickly manifest in price. If someone is selling nearly a billion worth OTC they either need to replenish or are exiting ETH entirely, which seems concerning

If I buy 800 $M of ETH outside of an exchange, through a private transaction, that only the buyer and the seller know, how could it affect the public price?
It's like buying ETH from my neighbor. I can buy at 10k$ if I want to to, and this will never reflect in public prices.

Mmmmkay. Well I never said I’m at a loss. It’s pretty hard to loose money if you follow the ETH cycles. We were at a 52 week high. Now we’re trading at 5500 ish from 6500+. If you invested at 6500 you’re someone’s exit liquidity booboo. Waterfall that shit back in every 1000$ decrease if you have to. I’ve done that and it worked out well for me. 200 invested at 6500 double it at 5500 with another 200. 4500 double again with 400. 3500 double with 800. 2500 double with 1600. 1500 double with 3200. Now you have 3200 invested with and average cost of $3427.50. When eth goes back to its 52 week high again, of around 6500 or more, that’s an approximate 89% or $2850 gain every cycle on a 3200$ investment. Now imagine adding a zero to every number invested in my example as your account grows, with 2000$ starting at 6500 (just in case it goes up 🤷‍♂️) by the end if it dips you’ll have a $28509 gain each cycle.
That way you are properly averaging down and not missing on the cycles. take profits at the 52 week highs, pretty easy shit. I do it this way because nobody knows how low it’s going to go and on top of that if it rebounds from anywhere back to 6500+ I’m taking profits.
My only advice is to not invest 100% of your account balance into a shitty bet that you have no capital left to buy dips.

Yes, I saw the paper on .25 eth.
But I can always add say 3-5 more ETH, it will become effective balance as soon it is processed on consensus layer. Is that correct? Basically, you are saying it has to xx.25 eth?
