It's their own fault for having FOMO without doing the research on the cycle.  I bought DOGE as a joke because I had $24 left in my account.  That's when it was $0.0025.  I sold it for $5k.  It happens.  But I also made 400% ROI on my BTC and mined $8k in ETH when it was still POW.  I made enough to pay off my mortgage this year.  So now I'm debt free.  I still have 6 figs left.  Thinking about building a new house with it on the next cycle.  So I'm letting it ride.  Will I lose $50k next year?  Absolutely.   Will it bother me? Nope.  I know BTC will hit $250k in 2029.  It's the cycle.

I bought some ETH a few days ago. The bank sent the money to Coinbase and then Coinbase returned it to my bank acct. My ETH had been approved and deposited to my account. Then I get a note from Coinbase saying I hadn’t paid them so they were gonna need to take it out of my crypto unless I settled it through the bank by Friday. Yesterday, Coinbase took XRP out of my account instead of waiting for me to get to my bank , happen to be at its lowest price. Shady business for sure.

The elevator pitch is ETH is the only smart contract platform that is decentralized enough and secure enough, with fast enough throughput and low enough fees to capture tradfi’s interest. Bitcoin is a fantastic asset and has a great use case as gold, but you can’t really build anything on top of it. Eventually BTC will be traded as just another financial asset on top of Ethereum.
ETH was the biggest loser of the 2021-2025 period because of Gensler’s SEC. Anyone trying to build an application would get sued by his administration. Now he’s gone and the new administration is opening the flood gates to institutional adoption. In the meantime ETH has performed upgrades to prepare for this moment, increasingly scalability and dropping fees.

$5700 makes no sense unless you believe all of the institutional adoption from this cycle is just vapor and/or ETH is dead. That’s basically the inflation-adjusted ATH from 2021. If we don’t go beyond that ETH is cooked. And ~50% above the previous ATH is also barely beating the S&P500 since then (which is up ~38% since Nov ‘21). I would be extremely surprised if we don’t go past $9k this cycle.
Sounds like hoping but honestly I think base case is kind of mirroring the BTC 2017 cycle and settling a bit below $10k before mania shoots it to $20k and then we crash. Note that that doesn’t mean it’ll stay near $20k for long. It might go from $15k-20k in a matter of days and then crash.
But obviously it’s unlikely history exactly repeats itself. But the nature of exponential cycles is really tricky to visualize unless you’ve been in it before.
If we’re truly in the institutional adoption phase of ETH and we start to get billions of dollars flowing on chain building the web3 financial system, then the bull case goes way beyond that. $20k starts to become way too low.

That's actually madness. If I move my Apple stock from a broker to Robinhood is that a disposal? Fuck I hate the shitty interpretations of crypto tax.
Not in any way financial advice, but in my experience, my accountants says since not everything has been clearly defined or has precedence, I can make the case for something I believe is true and I've never had any pushback from the tax man if it is reasonable. For example I used alchemix to get an alETH loan, allowing be to lock up 2X ETH and sell 1X alETH, allowing me to take profits without paying tax.

On rwa.xyz there’s a rapid increase in AUM. It’s unclear to me how to profit from this trend. Other than Stablecoins, the majority is Private Credit, e.g. BUIDL which doesn’t seem investable (other than maybe BLK)? I know about CRCL. And ETH. Are there any other worthwhile investments whose value would mirror an ever-increasing RWA AUM? P.s. please don’t mention crypto coins/tokens unless you can explain a clear price correlation with RWA AUM.
