Yep. This cycle was a genuine "no shit Sherlock" situation for me. I almost wanted to seriously punch myself in the head for being such a dumbass and not buying BTC instead of all the crap that I bought that, mind you, I sold for minimal profits, and then ended up buying back in on one token, and I was up over 66% on that one. But God bless my greedy ass...guess what? I'm now underwater on that one.
I won't be selling anything though, I'll just sit there and watch it chip away to nothing. It's what I deserve for being such a greedy dumbass.
But I will do something right - I'll be getting BTC when it bottoms out, and it will. Not before I've gone insane from sitting there watching my one-token portfolio get turned into liquefied shit.

33% nearly risk free on BTC/ETH/USDC is almost never real high yields usually mean hidden leverage or smart-contract risk. Most legit setups sit way lower.
I just move assets with Rubic

I’d be happy if I have 1 BTC more today than yesterday.

I feel those early BTC holders bought 1 bitcoin merely just few hundred by it reaching 100k or so obviously some of them sell off some.

Exactly. Looking back at this last cycle, I’d have WAY more money right now if I’d have bought only BTC, and lost nothing, but I bought many shitcoins and lost on other alts also, chasing bigger gains. Definitely using a different strategy once we bottom out

Heh, nice. If KuCoin really makes it this easy to spend crypto on travel via KuCoin Pay Travel, booking hotels globally with crypto, I’m down. If BTC or USDT can get me a 60% discount at a nice hotel, I might just stash some bags and travel this season. 🚀

Forex/indices/gold and BTC on the weekends, I don’t care what the pair is as long as I can see structure being respected then I’ll look for entries

I have always been able to make good profits, but I could keep them, my equity curve has never looked like this until the last month, because it did affect me mentally, but I have overcome that now and now it feel much more manageable, for me the last part of this journey was finally gaining emotional regulation, once that clicked, I performed as above, but it’s very important to me and a large part of my trading is self awareness because high frequency manual scalping like this can be exhausting and mentally taxing, so I have gotten very good at stopping when I need to stop.
I trade forex/indices/gold and BTC on the weekends. All trades are manual, I don’t mark out charts anymore as I have learnt to go by sight.

It does, if you zoom out enough. 1 BTC was worth 2000 ETH during the ICO. Now one BTC is only worth 30 ETH.

Those alts were near ATH as BTC was at its ATH - but if BTC goes back to ATH you’ll be only up 35% from today’s price (still a loss for you), whereas if alts rebound back to where you bought then you’re back to even (100% increase from here). That said, only buy alts that you believe in their utility. If BTC goes back to new ATH then alts could also follow with an even bigger rally and you could 2-5x your original investment whereas BTC will take YEARS to do that.

Totally get why you’re asking — fees can eat into BTC buys way faster than people expect. Most of the “big name” exchanges look similar on the surface, but the real cost usually comes down to spreads, withdrawal fees, and how often you trade.
A few things I watch for:
• Maker/taker fees — often lower if you place limit orders.
• Hidden spread — some platforms advertise low fees but widen the price.
• BTC withdrawal fees — these vary a ton and matter if you self-custody.
• Whether you need instant settlement or are fine waiting for cheaper options.
In my case, I mix between a low-cost CEX for fiat on-ramps and non-custodial swaps when I already hold crypto elsewhere. If you ever end up swapping between chains or assets before moving into BTC, Rubic gets brought up fairly often because it aggregates a bunch of liquidity sources and can sometimes beat individual DEX/CEX routes.
If you share where you’re located, folks can probably recommend fee-friendly options specific to your region.

I really do, just comparing apples to bitcoin doesnt really do it for me. Youve said apples are perishable and then have given up? Im not anti bitcoin just want people to actually give me good ppints abput it instead of just apples rot. I thought more bitcoin were being produced until 2035 or something? So its not fixed till then right?
You didnt even reply to my last one ypu just gave me a reply to someone else. Im genuinely curious and wpuod love to have poeple tell me the good points. So you say btc is unique because its anti inflati9n, yes that is something we all want ro escape so thats good. Does bitcoin have any use case compared to the assets that degrade etc. Do you just use BTC to store wealth or do you actaully have a use case for it? You actually buy things with it?
Please mention what will drive demand for BTC is it just hopes to make interest on the investment? Or dp you think the blockchain nfts will actually have any future? Despite your assumtpions im very keen to learn, im just critical.

Solid core with SCHG/GOOGL. $91K in growth + $56K in GOOGL = 82% of portfolio in quality. That's the foundation.
But WULF at $15K (10% of portfolio) is concerning. Bitcoin miners are pure momentum plays—they pump with BTC rallies and crater when crypto corrects. No moat, no earnings stability, just leverage to BTC price.
At 29, your SCHG position is perfect. But that $15K in WULF could be another $15K in SCHG compounding for 35 years. Momentum plays are fine for 2-5% of portfolio. 10% is too much unless you're trading it actively.
If you're holding WULF for crypto exposure, just buy BTC or MSTR. If you're holding for "the business," ask yourself: what happens when BTC drops 30%? WULF drops 50%.
Does WULF have a thesis beyond "Bitcoin might go up"?

MFers using gold as a reference for a sure deal, ignoring the volatility. YMMV depending on when you bought in but everyone should consider this when investing in gold or BTC: Does gold/BTC generate value? does it produce a product that others will buy. if not, it's essentially a variation on the same old "greater fool" theory

You're 8-10 years too late unfortunately, at least for monumental growth. However, depending on your age there will be a ton of upward trajectory in the next 10+ years with BTC so it's never actually too late. Just start DCA'ing in and treat it like a regular investment as you would funding a 401k. This is the way!
