Bold of you to assume the dump won't just dump even lower, or the top of the "bullrun" is already In and the next 3 years is bearish until the next BTC halving.

I'm not saying BTC necessarily has to drop to 70k, it's just a technical level to monitor. According to Gann cycles and geometries, if the support holds this is precisely the period in which the bull run should start. It is not a question of illusions, but of possible scenarios: on the one hand the risk if the support breaks, on the other the possibility of a bullish acceleration if the momentum ignites.

Most, if not all, Alts are made to take BTC away from you.

The flip side is what happens to BTC in 2 halvings when block rewards are 0.78 BTC? What happens when it eventually goes to zero block rewards? Litecoin has a more long term security budget than BTC, in all honesty

BTC finished the top and now in a few months will be around 68K again. Think other side not like all people

Class of 2018:
I've held Shib, Doge, Terra Luna, Luna Classic, Dai, and Polygon. Sold them all and plowed all of it into BTC at the 2021 lows, never touched an alt since.

This 100%
Crypto is full of first-time investor in anything.
They never learn from many stock investors who thought they're so smart with choosing microcap stocks and got burned. Then ended up being index-fund maxi.
Most people here are just repeating their mistakes before becoming BTC maxi.

that's an interesting visualisation, too. BTC/SPY correlation is too damn high. and makes sense that GME/BTC correlation is lower on the longer timeframes

BTC can be safer than other coins, but volatility is real. Maybe start small and learn as you go.

If $1 is worth a lot more than your currency, 1BTC is worth a lot more to you than it is to someone who lives in dollars and you don't need 1 BTC. That being said, 1BTC is an arbitrary number and you should not concern yourself with it. Just buy as much as you can comfortably afford to and keep doing it all throughout the next bear market regardless of price, you will be amazed how many sats you have acquired come this time in the next cycle.

That would be a 99.9% loss of value. That's not a Crash. If Bitcoin's price were to fall that low, it would be a serious collapse, triggered by some significant change in the protocol or something even worse.
I can imagine this happening if the protocol were to be changed and BTC's max supply to now be infinite, just like fiat.
It's value would totally be lost overnight.
Or, let's say that every major government around the world declared that citizens caught holding Bitcoin would be severely prosecuted and jailed.
Or maybe an incredible new technology suddenly comes out and it's able to hack and steal your seed phrase in a second.
Bitcoin would basically die.
Of course these are fantastic and non realistic scenarios.
But if they were to be true and Bitcoin would fall less than a dollar, would I still buy? Yes, of course. Just get 400 Bitcoins. Easy. What are the chances of Bitcoin ever being able to recover from there? Very slim. Worst case, you have wasted 400 bucks.
Bitcoin is now way past "it's going to zero". That just won't happen. Bitcoin is way too solid now. Of course we can still experience bear market and crashes, although not as severe as in past cycles, but Bitcoin ain't going to zero.

1. I never recommend anyone any projects "to buy".
2. I always believe in BTC/ETH dominance in my portfolio.

Just use Ethereum.
And if it's a store of value that you want, even Ethereum is better (2% net deflation per year thanks to stacking, versus 0.7% inflation for BTC)

The best way is to research for popular and trusted exchange platforms, that are officially regulated within your jurisdiction and then sell the BTC in smaller tranches that will get picked up quickly by buyers.
Make sure the whole process works smoothly from transfer through selling to withdrawal from the exchange. Start with values of around 1k USD equivalent and work your way up in steps to see if the exchange starts any shenanigans/freezes at higher values. Don't do more than 50k at a time!
You might want to check out more than just one exchange to spread risk and lower your profile.

hmm according to this [article](https://cointelegraph.com/news/businesses-absorbing-btc-4x-faster-mined), it is OTC:
> Despite Strategy’s frenzied BTC buying, the company’s corporate treasury officer, Shirish Jajodia, says that Strategy does not impact short-term Bitcoin prices through its purchases.
>
> Jajodia said that the company spreads out its buying through over-the-counter (OTC) transactions that occur off exchanges and do not impact spot markets or move prices.
>
> “Bitcoin’s trading volume is over $50 billion in any 24 hours — that’s huge volume. So, if you are buying $1 billion over a couple of days, it’s not actually moving the market that much,” he also said.
