Two trillion market cap and growing but zero utility? You got me crying dude 🤣
While you may not need BTC in your lifetime because you have successfully climbed the fiat mountain, the government has doomed your kids and they will most certainly need a sound money. Because fiat ain't it.

I wish it would be a resurgence of BTC lending. BlockFi used to offer 6.25% on one BTC, and if a lending platform with such high interest rates were available today, I'd quit my job immediately.

For anyone who had funds stuck in BlockFi after the FTX fallout, the first round of reimbursements is finally happening on **May 23**. This is huge—not just for affected users, but potentially for the altcoin market as a whole.
Why?
Many of the users getting their crypto or fiat back have been sitting on the sidelines for over a year. Now, with funds returning, there's a strong chance a portion of that capital flows back into the markets—especially altcoins which are still undervalued relative to BTC and ETH.

It won’t be a tsunami, but in a market driven by narratives and liquidity pockets, this could be a meaningful catalyst—especially combined with the current uptrend.
Anyone else planning to reallocate once the funds hit?

I would want it I dip to S$1 for a day then back up to $12 0000 the following day. I will then buy 1000 BTC (S$1000) that day and get S$1 2000 0000 in asset.

This, like SHIB has a 9.5B mcap at a price of **$0.00001615**
To hit 1 cent (as the dreamers like to think would happen), it would need to go up about 600x, be valued almost 3x as much as BTC and have a mcap of about 5.5T

If I had to pick only one, leaving BTC and ETH aside, I’d go with STBU (Stobox Utility Token).
Why? It’s a tiny under-the-radar real-world asset (RWA) play. They’re building actual tokenization infrastructure for businesses, not just hype. They offer licensed services, have partnered with Plume (which is pushing RWA adoption hard), and are expanding into the U.S. market.
Also, their Stobox 4 platform is launching soon (June), which should drive organic demand. It’s super early, sub-$3M market cap, so yeah, high risk, but potentially huge upside if RWAs actually take off this cycle.
Not financial advice of course, but in this magical one-pick scenario, I’m betting on utility over memes.

There are only 5 cryptos that I'm honestly thinking will succeed long term. The first one is BTC obviously, second one is LINK, then XRP, ETH, and the fifth one is HBAR.
Most alt coins are fly-by-nighters that will consolidate into nothingness over the long term.

People dont use gold in supermarkets, but its still a widely used store of value. Because there are buyers of gold, it has a known value. Those things are also true for BTC.

Bitcoin is a trash coin compared to ethereum or any of the true anonymous coins, and many others that process faster, but a bunch of money sunk into it during the hype so here we are, ruined BTC and most other crypto as a currency

The last 3 BTC cycles after halving, days to peak. We are currently 386 days since last halving Apr 20, 2024. It is easy to argue based on the below that a BTC peak will arrive in the next 3 - 6 mos.
Note however that the BTC etfs started trading in Jan 2024 and ETH etfs started trading July 2024. This allows for retail investors to easily move into and out of BTC and ETH with their cash, retirement accounts.
This would explain why coin cycles are influenced by the stock markets much more now than before.
1. 2012 - 367 days
2. 2016 - 525 days
3. 2020 - 546 days
4. 2024 - ?

Reposting this comment from another, relevant BTC related thread.
I encourage you to read Gradually, Then Suddenly by Parker Lewis. I’m a huge fan of Buffett and used to just defer to him (assumed BTC was “rat poison” without any actual investigation into it) until a friend of mine told me about BTC mining and how it results in $10-20/MMBtu+ pricing for natural gas which is insane given current prices (BEFORE deducts) are around $3.80/MMBtu. It’s a seasonally volatile commodity price that “usually” ranges b/t $2-$5 over the past decade or so depending on the time of year and macro conditions. I’m an oil and gas guy that still cannot believe I’m not pro-BTC. Anyways, the book I mentioned is the best, most logical discussion of the subject I’ve seen yet. Chapter 5 (The Great Definancialization) is probably my favorite one if you’re only going to pick one even though the rest of the chapters are great too. It’s also online for free to read. Good stuff.

> Cyprto is shit. Bitcoin is the asset to end all assets. What shitcoin have you got yourself all worked up about anyway?
Bitcoin is literally just a crypto like any other. And I don't have any coins. They are all stupid in my opinion. I think blockchain is a dead end technology. But Monero works far better as a currency which is what BTC is supposed to be.
>Show me another asset that can have final settlement within minutes and move billions in value across the globe.
Any other crypto. Besides the ontlr season banks don't do this now is because it's a good thing to have checks before large sums of money are sent overseas. Being able to chargebalc or have money returned if there is mistake is a good thing.
>Show me another asset that is immutable and has verified issuance out til beyond your grandkid's lifetimes
Don't see the value here. This doesn't mean anything. Also, many other cryptos fulfill this.
>Show me another asset that one can run a node to verify your own transactions with basic hardware.
Most of Bitcoin mining is centralized among big players. So no, you aren't doing it on your own hardware. And once again, all other cryptos do this.
>Show me another asset that countries are actively stockpiling and has even a chance of overtaking gold as the most valuable asset on earth.
Almost no countries are stockpiling Bitcoin. And gold is not the most valuable asset lmao. Stocks and Real Estate dwarf gold.
>Show me another asset without a premine and a CEO whose issuance isn't just that of a glorified IPO.
Who cares? Either it's useful or it isn't.
