As long as BTC moves with equities & venture capital sentiment, it’s treated as a speculative instrument.

$GEMI , Gemini Space Station had its IPO a few weeks at $28 and has made a base in the low 20's. This is a really interesting company, founded by the Winkelvoss twins and establishing a business model similar to Coinbase. Their corporate mantra: *"Gemini envisions a future where crypto will redesign the global financial system, the internet, and money in a way that provides greater choice, independence, and opportunity for all. As a trusted bridge between the traditional financial system and the emerging cryptoeconomy, we are providing access for individuals and institutions to a decentralized future that is more open, fair, and secure."*
Company info/news:

\-$50M investment from Nasdaq - [Gemini Exchange Gains A $50 Million Nasdaq Backing Before IPO](https://coinedition.com/gemini-secures-50-million-nasdaq-investment-ahead-of-ipo-debut-under-ticker-gemi/)
\-Winkelvoss twins own 64% of the company, and they don't mess around
\-Founded in 2015, still growing rapidly with over 20 job openings listed nationwide
\-No earnings date has been announced yet, stay tuned
\-Revenue grew 50% in 2024, and EPS improved nicely although still negative
\-500k+ active users, $18 Bln assets on platform [Investor Relations](https://investors.gemini.com/)\-Company holds 4002 $BTC (Apprx $500 mln) [Gemini Space Station Inc - Bitcoin Treasury Holdings & Analysis](https://bitcointreasuries.net/public-companies/gemini-space-station-inc)
Stock Analysis:
\- Public float is only 30-40mln shares, IPO Lockup ends in March 2026
\- Current Short Interest is around 5-10%, tough to get firm numbers on IPO's
\- Borrow Utilization is nearly 100%, and this is where it gets interesting
\- Shares hit Zero Borrow last week, indicating that broker/dealers are struggling to locate shares for short sellers. The tug of war between longs and shorts has already begun.
\- Borrow fees are increasing slowly as well
Overall Thesis:
The Crypto space is so bullish right now, with the US government expected to make some radical policy changes and investments over the next few months. $BTC is hitting all-time highs, and $COIN stock rallied over 100% this summer, so why can't $GEMI do the same? Factor in a short squeeze, and an even bigger move is absolutely possible.
My prediction is that more shorts will pile in when the stock goes above $30, and that will strengthen the data to the point where a squeeze becomes very likely with any positive catalyst. A solid ER and rosy outlook for 2026 would be the best catalyst, hopefully they announce a date soon.
This is a buy and wait kind of play, not a scalp or a swing.
DISCLOSURE: I own shares at 22.50 and some Nov $50 Calls (high risk/reward on the higher strikes)

That feeling of burnout and cyclical motivation is more common than you think — even experienced traders hit phases where learning feels like a drag.
I’ve found that automating the repetitive side of trading with bots removes a lot of that mental weight. My bots handle entries and exits on solid coins like BTC, ETH, SOL, and ADA using indicators like RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, and DCA, so even when my interest dips, my positions keep growing.
If you want, I can give a glimpse of how I set this up — it’s surprisingly freeing and keeps progress moving even during “off” periods.

Something like electrum functions more like a swiss army knife of working with the BTC network. There's no frills, and that's by design. Easier to maintain in the long run, smaller chance of bugs or exploits(especially from any included libraries that would support those frills). Someone could make what you're asking about i'm sure, but I for one would not use it.

My take is somewhat different.
I think we will have a collapse after this q4 pump (not alt season) which occurs sometime in the next 3 months and is a significant pump (Nov 2024 ish).
People will capitulate alts against BTC and alt holders will finally give up with end of 4 year cycle talk and prepare for bear talk. Q1 will be the collapse.
Q2 2026 Trump will oust Powell and start dropping rates. True alt season will hit afterwards. I’m guessing q4 2026.

Yes if you find positions that have an inverse correlation (aka close to negative 1) with your holdings. The problem is no one knows which ones will be inversely correlated and if it will ALWAYS be inversely correlated. Still, you can reduce correlation in your portfolio which is why you hear (and it is actually true) to diversify.
Traditionally, bonds have been considered the margin of safety bc they have low correlation with stocks (I think the avg is around 0.2-0.3 but differs depending on credit quality and duration), with US treasuries being considered the safe hedge. That’s has changed since many factors (geopolitics, political polarization, lack of political willpower to balance budget, etc.) are causing treasuries to no longer be considered a margin of safety.
Still, typically long duration bonds have the largest disparate correlations so you could allocate a portion of the portfolio into 20+ year bonds. Just know that the long duration bonds will get crushed as stocks offer better returns (investors will demand higher term premiums, which will lower the bond prices).
Other assets that are less correlated, aka the alternatives like REITS, precious metals, commodities, infrastructure, private equity, and more recently digital assets (although BTC still is highly correlated with Nasdaq at around 0.7-8) have been used to hedge. In a 401k plan, you really are handicapped by your trustee who is responsible for offering you the funds, and many are crappy ones like overpriced target dates funds and expensive sector/themes. This is changing with the recent EO to allow 401k to invest in BTC and private equity (i would not touch private equity in a 401k though bc the fees will be like 3-4% plus the risk isn’t worth it).
TL;DR: In a 401k, currently you have limited options because the trustee picks the funds; bond funds, and if you have access to long duration ones, are they only available hedge buy that may change soon with new offering like BTC/private equity.

Im 50 and the opposite. My kids will get my money to help them get a head start on life before I'm dead as long as I have enough to live ok.
If I'm to retire now my wife and I can live fairly comfortably, although definitely not as comfortably as I'm working. Why I'm stressing is not for myself is to build wealth for my kids so they can get ahead in the increasing wealth gapped world. Ideally id get each a whole BTC so they can have real wealth (missed the chance when BTC was at 20k sigh...), we'll have to see if I succeed

tldr; CleanSpark has reached a milestone with its Bitcoin treasury growing to 13,011 BTC and its mining fleet achieving a record 50 exahashes per second (EH/s). In September, the company produced 629 BTC, averaging 21 BTC per day. CleanSpark also expanded its bitcoin-backed credit facility by $200 million and revamped its leadership team. The company emphasized its self-operated data centers for better control and efficiency, while advancing its digital asset management strategy to optimize yields and manage volatility.

2026 bear market? Honestly, I just hope my bags will be worth more than a cup of coffee by then.
Jokes aside — every bear looks brutal in the moment, but zoom out and it’s usually the best shopping season.
Wake me up when BTC is $20k again, I’ll bring the credit card.

The only realistic option is P2P via cold wallet. Approach someone trustworthy and verifiable guy who has BTC in his account and would be open to transferring them to your "cold wallet" for cash.
Bear in mind that while your personal information may be harder to trace, there is always paper trail when it comes to crypto. Your cold wallet does not necessarily have your ID, but it has its unique data signature and any transactions to your cold wallet is on public ledger like any other crypto transactions that law enforcements can trace. This may matter because while holding onto the cold wallet with BTC is fine, eventually I imagine you'd have to cash out and spend it. No trading platform will ever allow financial interactions with your cold wallet until your ID is verified. So the only way to be liquid is to do the same thing you first do to get BTC; find someone who has cold cash and transfer your BTC to his cold wallet.
For a small amount, this is not a hassle. For a lot of money, that can be a bit more difficult as there may not be a ton of people who has stacks of cash wanting to buy your BTC in person (and there may be a good chance they are sketchy background wise such as planning to rob you on site). Depending on the amount involved, you may have to have multiple third parties willing to trade with you which can be a hassle.
Don't know your context, but GL.

BTC’s total market cap is roughly 6x higher now than it was in 2021, and we’re arguably not close to the peak yet. I don’t think it’s that crazy to say. ETH being 6x BTC will happen someday. Maybe not in the next couple years but 10 years from now it wouldn’t be surprising.
Either way that point is mostly irrelevant. Saying ETH is too large to move to 20k because it’s 6x BTC’s market cap makes no sense if in the current cycle BTC is 6x its 2017 cycle.
