One of the more interesting metrics to keep an eye on, and if the "cyclical" nature of crypto continues to be a thing. Back in May the ratio was less than 0.02 for a short period of time; but has since shown strength in the last 5 months climbing back to nearly 0.04
If it continues to show some strength and outperform BTC over the next few months, we could be in for some euphoric times.

With a 4 year outlook I only care about blue chip. BTC, ETH, SOL. Hell even XRP before ME if we’re talking 4 years.

BTW, BTC can do more than 300,000 transactions per day. BTC peaked at around 925,000 transactions per day in 2024. It did 643,000 a few days ago.

i ignored the posts, the comments of some people about how they were worried about the coming crypto winter, they sold their ETH miners, it was a few months before the bear market, because the market was green, and they were the minority, the majority were bulls. so i lost all my capital by ignoring the warning. however, i also earned a salary from work and started buying BTC when it dropped to the 30s zone, the profit received was much larger than that loss. i still reserve the old opinion, if you are making profit on altcoins, take profit, otherwise, they will disappear very quickly, oh those red candles -40% suddenly appeared out of nowhere, it's amazing

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is where all the potential is. BTC has no future.

The Lightning Network solves this! Allows transactions from 1-10 sats regardless of BTC price. It’s like having a Bitcoin “checking account”. Mainstream blockchain = great values, Lightning = everyday use. The more expensive BTC is, the more incentive to use higher layers. Future of sats is in Lightning! ⚡​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Why don’t you hold ETH, the one crypto besides BTC that actually has utility?

Zero. Put it all in BTC. There is no 2nd best.

Imagine a bunch of people bet that Bitcoin will go down (shorts). To make that bet, they borrow BTC and sell it.
If the price goes up instead, they start losing money. At some point the exchange says: “Pay up or we’ll close your bet.”
To close, the shorts have to buy BTC back. And when thousands of them all buy at the same time, it’s like pouring rocket fuel on the price — it shoots up even faster. 🚀

Hard to say which ones will “run the hardest” because seasons shift quick, but I’d keep an eye on sectors rather than just coins. Historically Q4 tends to be strong for majors like BTC and ETH, and memecoins usually catch hype waves too.
But what excites me more are RWAs since they’ve got real adoption momentum. For example, Record Nexus is launching IP backed bonds tied to music, film, and patents. That’s a different kind of value driver compared to pure speculation, and if RWAs keep trending this fall, projects like that could see serious attention.

ETH always ends up getting the middle-child treatment.
Not scarce enough like big brother BTC (most people don't understand emissions after PoS)
Not having enough upside potential in terms of price as compared to alternate L1s (most people don't understand the value of decentralization and security).
What also doesn't help is that the foundation and the founders don't promote it as compared to what other L1 founders do.

I know, I actually make most of my money swing trading rather than investing. But seeing as this is an investing sub I’m going to gear my comments more towards longer-term views and avoid making comments about things such as ETH or BTC.

Don't get me wrong I also want to see number go up. Just my 2 cents... This is not a guaranteed start of the biggest green candle you ever saw, don't be disappointed. We could sell off this or next week with cuts and still see big ATHs til EOY. The cut is bad. It's absolutely necessary, but because of a very flawed system. It will have dire real life consequences for many people. Consequences we try to escape with BTC.
