Canon Requested Removal of Toner Cartridges Offered by Hong Kong Boze Co., Limited via Amazon

Canon Inc. (NYSE:CAJ) today announced that it filed Report Infringement Forms with Amazon.de and Amazon.es (NASDAQ:AMZN) based on the alleged use of claims 1 of the German and Spanish portions of Canon's European Patent EP 2 137 577 ("EP '577") regarding certain models of toner cartridges offered by Hong Kong Boze Co., Limited under the following ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers).

Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the respective OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing, a non-OEM developing roller, as well as a non-OEM coupling member comprising a rotating force receiving portion and a rotating force transmitting portion according to claim 1 of EP '577.
