The tech-heavy Nasdaq posted a particularly steep loss after outperforming its counterparts on Monday.

Tuesday, 3M reported second-quarter net income of $1.29 billion or $2.22 per share, up from $1.13 billion or $1.92 per share in the year-ago period. However, adjusted earnings of $1.78 per share missed the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters at $1.80 per share.

|BEGINSUB|Stock Alert: Harley-Davidson Falls 9% As Q2 Results Miss Expectations |ENDSUB|Shares of Harley-Davidson, Inc. (TS:HOG) are losing more than 9 percent or $2.66 in Tuesdays morning trade at $26.62 after the motorcycle makers second-quarter results missed analysts expectations.

Tuesday, Harley-Davidson reported second-quarter net loss of $92.22 million or $0.60 per share, compared to net income of $195.63 million or $1.23 per share in the same period last year. Adjusted loss was $0.35 per share, while the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for earnings of $0.03 per share.
