Overview Of Value Stocks In The Technology Sector

What are Value Stocks?

A value stock traditionally has a lower price when compared to stock prices of companies in the same industry. This indicates that the company may be undervalued, as investors are not expressing as much interest in such companies. The most commonly used way to check for value is with the price-to-earnings multiple, or P/E. A low P/E multiple is a good indication that the stock is undervalued.

Below is a list of notable value stocks in the technology sector:

2 Hamilton Beach Brands (NYSE:HBB) - P/E: 8.3

4 MIND C.T.I. (NASDAQ:MNDO) - P/E: 9.96

6 Nortech Systems (NASDAQ:NSYS) - P/E: 7.74

8 Inpixon (NASDAQ:INPX) - P/E: 0.06

10 Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) - P/E: 9.76

This quarter, Nortech Systems experienced a decrease in earnings per share, which was -0.05 in Q2 and is now -0.35. Nortech Systems does not have a dividend yield, which investors should be aware of when considering holding onto such a stock.

Inpixon saw an increase in earnings per share from -0.21 in Q2 to -0.13 now. Inpixon does not have a dividend yield, which investors should be aware of when considering holding onto such a stock.

Most recently, Intel reported earnings per share at 1.11, whereas in Q2 earnings per share sat at 1.23. Its most recent dividend yield is at 2.62%, which has increased by 0.38% from 2.24% in the previous quarter.

The Significance: A value stock may need some time to rebound from its undervalued position. The risk of investing in a value stock is that this emergence may never materialize.
