2 Conferences Are Going Virtual This Month One On Cannabis And Another Life Sciences

The coronavirus pandemic has made this an interesting time for the cannabis and life sciences industries.

In cannabis, the pandemic is thought to be a major reason why the industry is seeing record sales. U.S. cannabis sales in 2020 have already surpassed 2019's record total as the country's most mature markets--California, Colorado, and Oregon--have all reported record monthly sales this summer. And north of the border, Canada has opened 431 retail cannabis stores this year despite the continued presence of the virus.

On the life sciences front, most of the world's attention (perhaps rightly) has turned to the development of a vaccine for COVID-19, putting the industry squarely in the spotlight and causing investors to flock to the sector in both the public and private markets.

For interested investors, 25 companies in either the cannabis and life sciences industries have been announced as presenters at a pair of virtual conferences happening this month: the KCSA Cannabis Investor Conference on Sept. 10 and the Virtual Life Sciences Investor Forum Sept. 17.

On the cannabis front, the group of presenters includes companies involved in flower cultivation, pharmaceutical research and CBD production. Meanwhile, presenting life sciences companies run the spectrum from those exploring neuro spinal surgical devices, clinical diagnostic tools as well as several firms involved in COVID-19 research.
