Avnet Embedded Opens New Design Center In Germany

Avnet Embedded opened a new design center in Deggendorf, Germany, on Jan. 1, 2022. The center, which is located about 130 kilometers northeast of Munich, will support customers in southeastern Germany.

"We see the embedded business as the growth engine of the future and want to continue to drive forward our success achieved in recent years. With the opening of another design center, we are able to better support our growing global customer base in the realization of their innovative embedded products. We provide tailored solutions, optimized time-to-market and costs, the best quality and long-term business concepts for the specific application," said Silvano Geissler, vice president Product Creation, Avnet Embedded.

The design center in Deggendorf is structurally similar to Avnet Embedded's other design locations and has identical interfaces, tools, and processes. The focus is on products from the standard roadmap, for example x86- and ARM-based Computer-On-Modules (COMs), as well as customer-specific solutions derived from them.

Avnet Embedded follows the concept of a virtual design campus that logically consists of all physical locations. In Germany, these design facilities are in Stutensee, Freiburg, Neufahrn, Aachen and now also in Deggendorf. Each location has its own product focus and at the same time plays one or more roles as a competence center for the other design centers. The virtual campus concept and uniform infrastructure means that the right technology and corresponding development teams can be found for each project.

Avnet Embedded's design and manufacturing ecosystem combines the different development and manufacturing aspects and maps in digital processes. The embedded products are produced in the company's own highly automated manufacturing sites, which offer flexibility, transparency, and security. The customer receives everything from a single source, starting with the optimal solution concept, through to implementation, series production/logistics and lifecycle management.
