08:24 Tuesday, October 26, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - United Bankshares, Inc. (UBSI) reported on Tuesday that net income for the third quarter increased to $92.2 million or $0.71 per share from $103.8 million or $0.80 per share in the prior-year quarter.

Net interest income for the quarter decreased 2 percent from the year-ago quarter to $181.6 million, and noninterest income also declined 49 percent from last year to $68.6 million.

On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.66 per share on revenues of $244.14 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
