07:37 Thursday, October 21, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Pool Corp. (POOL) on Thursday reported that net income for the third quarter surged 55 percent to $184.67 million or $4.54 per share from $119.10 million or $2.92 per share in the prior-year quarter.

Excluding the impact from ASU 2016-09 in both periods, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $4.44 per share, compared to $2.71 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Net sales for the quarter grew 24 percent to a record of $1.41 billion from $1.14 billion in the same quarter last year.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $3.85 per share on revenues of $1.37 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2021, Pool raised its earnings guidance to a range of $14.85 to $15.35 per share from the prior outlook range of $13.75 to $14.25 per share. The Street expects earnings of $14.06 per share for the year.
