Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) reported quarterly earnings of $1.41 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.36 by 3.68 percent. This is a 12.8 percent increase over earnings of $1.25 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $32.90 billion which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $33.28 billion by 1.14 percent. This is a 4.30 percent increase over sales of $31.54 billion the same period last year.
