KBR Inc. (KBR), a science, technology, and engineering solutions provider, on Monday said it received a $126.7 million re-compete contract to modernize technical, logistical, and safety-related transportation systems in the U.S.

06:38 Monday, October 18, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - KBR Inc. (KBR), a science, technology, and engineering solutions provider, on Monday said it received a $126.7 million re-compete contract to modernize technical, logistical, and safety-related transportation systems in the U.S.

The contract is awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Volpe National Transportation Systems Center for Mission Information Technology Support (MITS) Services in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

As per the terms of the contract, the company is expected to deliver technical support to the Volpe Center, which provides solutions to meet latest challenges, such as modernization efforts in physical safety, cybersecurity, environmental impacts, and traffic management, the Houston-based KBR said.

This work is expected to be performed over four years with KBR providing mission-critical information technology, software and systems engineering for all modes of transportation for several government entities, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Federal Highway Administration, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Department of Defense, and Department of Interior.
