06:57 Thursday, September 16, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, TSMC (TSM) on Thursday, announced its commitment to reach net zero emissions by 2050, on the occasion of International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.

The company also published its Task Force on climate-related financial disclosures (TCFD) report.

To achieve its aim of net zero by 2050, TSMC plans to adapt mitigation measures, advance its green innovations, and actively adopt renewable energy.

The company's short term goals in this regard include zero emissions growth by 2025, and reducing emissions to year 2020 levels by 2030.

TSMC said it takes actions to mitigate climate change guided by its ESG Policy and Environmental Policy, and also closely tracks a wide range of global climate action indicators.
