10:16 Wednesday, August 11, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Shares of WW International, Inc. (WW), a weight management products and services provider, are down more than 25% in the morning trade on Wednesday after the company's second-quarter results as well as full-year outlook fell short of analysts' view.

Net income in the second quarter declined to $8.9 million or $0.12 per share from $14 million or $0.20 per share in the same quarter a year ago. On average, 8 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $.65 per share.

The company had an early extinguishment of debt of $29.17 million in the second quarter of this year.

Revenue for the quarter declined 6.7% to $311.4 million from $333.6 million last year impacted by lower e-commerce sales as well as decrease in subscription revenue due to closure of studios and reduced operations related to Covid-19. The consensus estimate was for $337.1 million.

Looking forward to the full year, the company expects revenue to be about $1.3 billion and EPS to be in the range of $1.10 to $1.25. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $2 per share on revenue of $1.38 billion for the period.

WW, currently at $24.01, has traded in the range of $17.75- $41.13 in the last one year.
