California-based data analytics company, Alteryx, Inc (AYX) shares are trading 14% lower in the morning session after the company reported a wider second-quarter loss. The earnings, however, topped analyst estimates.

10:46 Wednesday, August 4, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - California-based data analytics company, Alteryx, Inc (AYX) shares are trading 14% lower in the morning session after the company reported a wider second-quarter loss. The earnings, however, topped analyst estimates.

The net loss for the quarter was $43.4 million or $0.65 loss per share as opposed to $35.3 million or $0.53 loss per share in the last quarter.

Excluding one-time items, the net loss was $5.2 million or $0.08 loss per share, compared to an income of $1.7 million or $0.02 earnings per share last year. Seventeen analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated the loss to be $0.25 per share.

The company also reported a revenue of $120.1 million, up 25% from its previous revenue of $96.2 million last year. Fifteen analysts expected the revenue to be $113.04 million.

The shares are currently trading at $67.90, down $10.89 or 13.82% lower from its close at $78.79 on Tuesday. The shares opened at $70.65 in the morning and in the 52-week period, the shares have ranged from $67.56 and $181.08.
