03:11 Wednesday, August 4, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS), a digital games provider, Wednesday said it acquired Sydney-based content studio Lightning Box. The financial terms were not disclosed.

Lightning Box, a slot developer, creates feature-rich, land-based inspired games that deliver exciting experiences for online slot players worldwide. Lightning Box is currently live with more than 50 of U.S., Canadian and European operators.

Scientific Games and Lightning Box have a long-standing partnership. Lightning Box games are already proven performers across the OpenGaming platform in the U.S.

The studio will now continue deliver new exciting games while benefitting from Scientific Games' comprehensive range of resources, including data analytics and commercial support.

With the acquisition, Scientific Games plans to continue to execute on its vision to become a major cross-platform global game company.

According to the company, the acquisition is a key step forward on its strategic plan to become a content-led sustainable growth company.

The addition of the Lightning Box studio would strengthen its in-house studios with even more talented game makers.
