07:25 Monday, August 2, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Shares of Beijing-based premium smart electric vehicles maker Li Auto Inc. (LI) are climbing more than 4% in pre-market on Monday.

On August 1, the company said its vehicle deliveries were up 11.4% month over month at 8,589, which is also a 251.3% year-over-year growth.

The company hit a new record of more than 8000 deliveries of its first and only model, a six-seat, hybrid SUV, Li ONE, in July. Li Auto has delivered 72,340 Li ONEs since its market debut in December 2019.

Li Auto had started volume production of its first model, Li ONE, a six-seat, large premium electric SUV equipped with a range extension system and advanced smart vehicle solutions in November 2019.

The sales numbers exceeded the numbers reported by rivals Xpeng and Nio, all fiercely competing with Tesla, that is out to woo the Chinese market.

"Driven by outstanding product features and performance, the 2021 Li ONE set an all-time high in monthly deliveries once again. By the end of this year, we will launch a series of major OTA upgrades to elevate our product offering to new heights," said Yanan Shen, co-founder and president of Li Auto.

Li closed Friday's trading at $33.39, up 8.90%. The stock is currently at $34.77.
