Shares of Chinese agricultural biotechnology company Origin Agritech Limited (SEED) are rising more than 28% Thursday morning following the approval of its four new corn hybrids by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MOA).

09:58 Thursday, July 8, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Shares of Chinese agricultural biotechnology company Origin Agritech Limited (SEED) are rising more than 28% Thursday morning following the approval of its four new corn hybrids by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MOA).

Additionally, the company said its GMO (Genetically modified organisms) enhanced versions of the newly approved hybrids are in the approval pipeline.

"We are very excited to further grow our extensive germplasm resources, which will play an instrumental role in our goal to bring GMO enhanced hybrid seed breeds to market," said Agritech's Chairman Gengchen Han.

SEED, currently at $9.27 has traded in the range of $7.09- $28.28 in the last one year.
