15:46 Friday, July 2, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc (SPCE) is up 5% after Sir Richard Branson, the founder of the space tourism entrepreneurship, announced that he will board a ride on VSS Unity on July 11, nine days ahead of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' planned flight to space. Sir Branson is going to test the private astronaut experience, according to the statement. The British said in a tweet, "I've always been a dreamer. My mum taught me to never give up and to reach for the stars. On 11 July, it's time to turn that dream into a reality aboard the next @VirginGalactic spaceflight." This is set to be the fourth flight of VSS Unity and apart from Sir Branson, 82 year-old Ms Funk, a member of the Mercury 13 Women crew, who never got to go to space, will also be there. The shares of the company are currently moving at $45.50, up $2.31 or 5.35% from their previous closing at $43.19. The shares opened at $53.23 and in the 52-week period, the shares have ranged between $14.27 and $62.80.
