10:11 Wednesday, June 23, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Occidental Petroleum (OXY) saw its stock rise 4% in the morning trade on Wednesday. There was no announcement from the company to drive the shares.

The price of crude oil has seen a record high in recent days as the global economy is slowly opening up after a year-long lockdown due to the pandemic. The demand for oil, as a result, has gone up, contributing to the rise of company shares.

Currently, the share is trading at $31.60, up $1.59 or 5.31% from $30.01, at close on the previous day. The shares opened at $29.44 and in the 52-week period, the shares have moved between $8.52 and $32.52.
