Shares of ready-mixed concrete producer U.S. Concrete, Inc. (USCR) are surging nearly 30% Monday morning on the news of its decision to be acquired by Vulcan Materials Company (VMC) in a transaction valued at $1.294 billion.

09:50 Monday, June 7, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Shares of ready-mixed concrete producer U.S. Concrete, Inc. (USCR) are surging nearly 30% Monday morning on the news of its decision to be acquired by Vulcan Materials Company (VMC) in a transaction valued at $1.294 billion.

As per the deal, Vulcan will acquire all common stock of U.S. Concrete for $74.00 per share, in cash, nearly 30% premium to the closing price as on June 4.

The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2021.

USCR is currently at $73.87.
