Virgin Galactic Holdings, Inc. (SPCE) shares are trading more than 14 percent on Thursday morning after the company confirmed that the next rocket-powered test flight of SpaceShipTwo Unity will be conducted on May 22.

10:01 Thursday, May 20, 2021 (RTTNews.com) - Virgin Galactic Holdings, Inc. (SPCE) shares are trading more than 14 percent on Thursday morning after the company confirmed that the next rocket-powered test flight of SpaceShipTwo Unity will be conducted on May 22.

The aerospace and space travel company said it completed a maintenance review of VMS Eve, the mothership jet aircraft designed to carry SpaceShipTwo to an altitude of approximately 50,000 feet.

Currently, shares are at $19.62, up 13.61 percent from the previous close of $17.27 on a volume of 28,668,191. For the 52-week period, the shares have traded in a range of $14.21-$62.80 on average volume of 12,523,800.
